Sunnyside High School (Tucson, Arizona)
Sunnyside High School, opened in 1955, is home to two thousand students located on the south side of Tucson, Arizona. Sunnyside offers a variety of extracurricular programs, advanced placement courses, and specialized career and technical training programs. It is a part of the Sunnyside Unified School District. History Sunnyside High School opened in 1955 with 9th and 10th grade classes. The original mascot logo for Sunnyside used a variation of Arizona State University's Sparky mascot. The school was forced to change after the university learned of this use when Sunnyside played a championship game at ASU's Sun Devil Stadium. Journey (band)
Journey is an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1973 by former members of Santana, Steve Miller Band, and Frumious Bandersnatch. The band currently consists of guitarist/vocalist Neal Schon (the last original member), keyboardists/vocalists Jonathan Cain and Jason Derlatka, drummer/vocalist Deen Castronovo, bassist Todd Jensen, and lead vocalist Arnel Pineda. Matthew Lopez
Matthew Lopez (born December 12, 1987) is an American mixed martial artist who competed in the bantamweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Background Lopez was born in Safford, Arizona, United States. Lopez's father was the kid wrestling coach at Safford and he started training wrestling when he was young. He was a four time state champion wrestler at Sunnyside High School. He competed in wrestling in college at Arizona State University and Cal State Fullerton. Harry Holt (gridiron Football)
Harry Holt (born December 29, 1957) is a former football player in the Canadian Football League, CFL for five years and in the NFL for five years. Holt played tight end for the British Columbia Lions from 1978–1982, the Cleveland Browns from 1983–1986 and the San Diego Chargers in 1987. He played college football at the University of Arizona. He signed to play for U of A in 1976 while playing high school football at Sunnyside High School in Tucson, Arizona. Holt was selected to the Lions' 2004 50th Anniversary Dream Team. Arizona's 3rd Congressional District
Arizona's 3rd congressional district is a congressional district that contains the southwestern portions of the state, sharing the border of Mexico from Nogales to the California border. Much of the district's population lives in the western third of Tucson. It is currently represented by Democrat Raúl Grijalva. History Arizona picked up a third district after the 1960 Census. It encompassed the entire northern portion of the state, essentially wrapping around Phoenix and Maricopa County (the 1st district). David Delaney Adams (born June 24, 1964) is a former American football running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams. He also was a member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the twelfth round (309th overall) of the 1987 NFL Draft. A Gay–Straight Alliance, Gender-Sexuality Alliance (GSA) or Queer–Straight Alliance (QSA) is a student-led or community-based organisation, found in middle schools, high schools, colleges, and universities. These are primarily in the United States and Canada. The National Honor Society (NHS) is a nationwide organization for high school students in the United States and outlying territories, which consists of many chapters in high schools. Selection is based on four criteria: scholarship (academic achievement), leadership, service, and character. The National Honor Society requires some sort of service to the community, school, or other organizations. The time spent working on these projects contributes towards the monthly service hour requirement.
