''Sunnyside'' is a 1919 American short silent film written by, directed by and starring Charlie Chaplin. It was his third film for First National Pictures. Plot Charlie works on a farm from 4 a.m. until late at night at the run-down Evergreen Hotel in the rural village of Sunnyside. He has endless duties inside the hotel as well as farm chores to undertake. Chaplin's boss is the local preacher who mistreats him badly. He gets his food and the boss' on the run (milking a cow into his coffee, holding a chicken over the frying pan to get fried eggs). Charlie has to lead the cows to an upper pasture on a Sunday. He wanders off-road on a dusty corner and loses the cows. They materialise in the village: mainly in the church. Charlie rides a longhorn out of the church and falls off as they cross a bridge. Sunnyside is a populated place situated in the far west of Cochise County, Arizona, United States, located just north of the international border with Mexico. It has an estimated elevation of above sea level. History Sunnyside was founded as a religious commune by Samuel Donnelly. Donnelly also co-founded the Copper Glance Mine. Donnelly's followers were known as Donnellites, a term Donnelly himself disliked. In 1900, Donnelly became sick with Bright's disease and died on April 14, 1901. By 1903, nearly everyone had left Sunnyside. Around 1912, the camp was revived as a ranching community. Sunnyside's population in 1940 was 2 residents. Sunnyside is a historic home located in Aquasco, Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. It is a five bay wide two-story frame house with a center hall and north and south parlors, facing east on a brick foundation. The building dates to 1844. The main block of the house is a fine example of a mid-19th century I-house, and possesses a great deal of intact original fabric. The significance of the property is enhanced by the 18th century wing, in good repair and possessing its original hearth with iron fittings. The house and outbuildings are well preserved examples of vernacular southern Maryland architecture dating from the 18th through the mid 19th century. Sunnyside is a neighborhood in easternmost East Chicago, Indiana, in the Indiana Harbor section near Cline Avenue. It is unique among East Chicago neighborhoods for its suburban character, including a curvilinear street grid. The population is 55% African American and 42% Hispanic. The neighborhood has one of the highest rates of owner-occupied homes in the city. The neighborhood was built over the first half of the 20th century by Inland Steel as employee housing. The first 100 houses, brick duplexes housing 200 families, were built in 1918. Another 100 units were built in the 1940s in response to the post-World War II housing shortage. Inland Steel retained ownership, renting the homes to employees, until 1969 when it began selling them off. Some additional homes were built in the 1970s.
