Warfaze (Bengali language, Bengali: ওয়ারফেইজ) is a Bangladeshi heavy metal band formed in 6 June 1984 in Dhaka by Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal, Kamal, Meer, Helal, Naimul, and Bappy. They are one of the early heavy metal music, heavy metal bands in Bangladesh. The band had numerous line-up changes since 1984. Since its inception, the band has released seven studio albums, one compilation album, and several singles. The band has experimented with different sub-genres of rock music, rock and heavy metal over the years. Bangladeshi heavy metal or Bangla heavy metal was originated from the evolution of British and American heavy metal bands of the 1980s. Bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica and Megadeth have had the greatest influences on Bangladeshi heavy metal musicians. Other 1970s bands to influence are bands like Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Motörhead. The first bands to play heavy metal in Bangladesh were bands like Warfaze and Rockstrata. Warfaze (album)
Warfaze is the debut album by Bangladeshi heavy metal band Warfaze. History ''"Warfaze"'' is the self-titled debut album of pioneer Bangladeshi Heavy Metal band ''Warfaze''. It was released from Sargam in 1991 in cassette format with a later CD release in the late '90s. The CD was also re-released by Sargam in 2008. The album featured hits like "Boshe Achhi", "Ekti Chhele", "Bichchhinno Abeg", "Shadhikhar" etc. and during that time, this sound was unheard of in the Bangladeshi band music scene. Lyrics other than romanticism and patriotism were rare, so it took a while for this music to be accepted, especially in a band music scene where Pop largely dominated as the mainstream music of choice for bands. Balam (singer)
Kazi Md. Ali Jahangir, famously known as Balam, (born 24 December 1976) is a Bangladeshi singer, guitarist, composer, and music producer. He was born in Dhamaron village in Tongibari Upazila of Munshiganj (Bikrampur) district. He used to be the lead guitarist/vocalist for the band Warfaze. Later he introduced himself as a solo singer. In 2019 he joined LRB as a lead guitarist/vocalist. Career Balam started his career by forming the band Renegades after graduating from secondary school in 1995. He was the lead guitarist and main vocalist. The band published two albums - ''Onno Bhubon'' and ''Firiye Dao''. Balam also worked as a guest artist in bands like Ark and Pentagon. Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal
Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal (born 2 May 1969) is a Bangladeshi guitarist, songwriter and producer. He is the lead guitarist and the founder of the heavy metal band Warfaze. He has been the band's guitarist and composer for three decades. In his early days in Warfaze, he used to play bass. In the late 1987, he took the role of playing guitar. He had appeared on all the studio albums of Warfaze. In 2005 he left the band for Aurthohin, where he played guitars. He appeared in two albums of the band, including অসমাপ্ত (''Unfinished'') in 2008 and অসমাপ্ত ২ (''Unfinished II'') in 2008. He also won the Channel i best band of the year award with the band. Iqbal Asif Jewel
Iqbal Asif Jewel (born 1 March) is a Bangladeshi singer, songwriter, guitarist, composer and producer. He is currently a member of the band Miles. Career Iqbal's first band was ''Legend'', whose first album was ''Onnobhubon''. Aurthohin is a Bangladeshi rock band formed in Dhaka in 1998 by Saidus Sumon (vocals and bass guitar), Tonmoy Rahman (lead guitar), Ponir (rhythm guitar) and Rumi Rahman (drums and percussion). They are considered to be one of the pioneering band in Bangladeshi alternative rock music. They have released 8 studio albums and also have appeared in some mixed albums. Artcell is a Bangladeshi progressive metal band formed in October 1999 by vocalist and riff guitarist George Lincoln D'Costa, lead guitarist Ershad Zaman, bassist Saef Al Nazi Cézanne and drummer Kazi Sazzadul Asheqeen Shaju.
