Sune Carlsson (athlete)
Sune Evert Carlsson (21 December 1931 – 2 July 2024) was a Swedish Olympic sailor in the Star (sailboat), Star class and boatbuilder. He competed in the 1960 Summer Olympics, where he finished 10th in the Star class together with Per-Olof Carlsson and won a silver medal at the 1977 Star World Championships together with Leif Carlsson. Biography Carlsson was born in Stockholm on 21 December 1931. When he grew up, he sailed with model boats on Bällstaån and started to build his own boats at the age of 13. In 1950, he won his first of several Star Swedish Championships, 1954 he won it as helmsman, and in 1956 he qualified for the Sailing at the 1956 Summer Olympics – Star, Star event at the 1956 Summer Olympics together with Olle Carlsson, but was rejected by the Swedish Olympic Committee due to their young age. Ulf Artur Sundelin (born 26 August 1943) is a retired Swedish sailor. Together with his younger brothers Peter and Jörgen he won a gold medal in the 5.5 metre class at the 1968 Olympics and a silver medal at the 1969 World Championships. Dennis Walter Conner (born September 16, 1942) is an American yachtsman. He is noted for winning a bronze medal at the 1976 Olympics, two Star World Championships, and three wins in the America's Cup. Sailing career Conner was born September 16, 1942, in San Diego. He competed in the 1976 Olympics together with Conn Findlay and took the bronze medal in the Tempest class. Conner also took part in the 1979 Admiral's Cup, as helmsman on the Peterson 45 named ''Williwaw''. America's Cup Conner has won the America's Cup three times, successfully defending the Cup in 1980 and 1988, and winning as the challenger in 1987. Kiel
