''Sundel Bolong'' or ''Sundelbolong'' is a 1981 Indonesian cult horror film directed by Sisworo Gautama Putra. The film is about the Javanese mythical prostitute ghost Sundel Bolong and stars Suzzanna Suzzanna Martha Frederika van Osch (13 October 1942 – 15 October 2008), was an Indonesian actress. Sisworo Gautama Putra
Sisworo Gautama Putra (May 26, 1938 – January 5, 1993) was an Indonesian film director and screenwriter, best known for his work in the horror film genre. Biography Born in Kisaran in North Sumatra, Sisworo trained as a director in 1961. In 1962 he began working in the studio Gema Period Film. He worked as screenwriter unit manager, production manager and then assistant director. His solo debut as a director started in 1972 with the film ''Revenge of the Child Haram'', in which the screenplay was also written by him. He was a successful director during the golden age of Indonesian cinema from the 1970s until the early 1990s and often directed popular horror films such as ''Sundelbolong'', ''Telaga Angker'', and ''Nyi Ageng Ratu Pemika'', often working actors such as Suzzanna, Ratno Timoer, Barry Prima, and George Rudy. Marlia Hardi (also Marlia Hardy; 10 March 192618 June 1984) was an Indonesian film actress active from 1951 to 1983. Born in the Central Javan city of Magelang, she took to the stage in the 1940s before moving to Jakarta in 1949. Two years later she made her feature film debut in ''Untuk Sang Merah Putih''. Over the next two decades she appeared in over seventy films, became recognized for her depictions of mothers, and received the Citra Award for Best Supporting Actress. HIM Damsyik
Hajji Incik Muhammad Damsyik (14 March 1929 – 3 February 2012), better known as HIM Damsyik or Datuk Maringgih was an Indonesian dancer and actor. Biography Damsyik was born in Teluk Betung, Lampung, Dutch East Indies on 14 March 1929. His father was the director of employees of the Koninklijke Paketvaart-Maatschappij, a shipping company. In the 1950s, he moved to Jakarta to further his education; at the same time he learning and competing in Ballroom Dance. After winning a competition, he spent four years studying at the Rellum Dancing School in the Netherlands. Upon returning to Indonesia, Damsyik began giving private dance lessons. In 1959 he was approached by Wim Umboh to do the choreography for ''Bertamasaya'' (''Picnic''); Damsyik ended up acting in the film as well.
