Marlia Hardi
Marlia Hardi (also Marlia Hardy; 10 March 192618 June 1984) was an Indonesian film actress active from 1951 to 1983. Born in the Central Javan city of Magelang, she took to the stage in the 1940s before moving to Jakarta in 1949. Two years later she made her feature film debut in ''Untuk Sang Merah Putih''. Over the next two decades she appeared in over seventy films, became recognized for her depictions of mothers, and received the Citra Award for Best Supporting Actress. Despite her productiveness, however, she sank into debt and committed suicide at the age of fifty-eight. Biography Marlia Hardi was born in Magelang, Central Java, on 10 March 1926. She was of mixed Bugis and Javanese descent, through her father and mother, respectively. She received an elementary education at a Dutch-run school for indigenous Indonesians. Magelang
Magelang () is one of six cities in Central Java that are administratively independent of the regencies in which they lie geographically. Each of these cities is governed by a mayor rather than a ''bupati''. Magelang city covers an area of 18.12 km2 and has a population of 118,227 at the 2010 census and 121,526 at the 2020 census. An ''arisan'' is a form of Rotating Savings and Credit Association in Indonesian culture, a form of Microfinance. Generally the ''arisan'' is a social gathering that takes place at a fixed interval (this being an informal social network this may be variable), at each member's home in turn. The rotating ''arisan'' holder (drawn by lots) receives payment from each other member and provides food for those members. In the course of the ''arisan'' the amount paid to other members will equal the amount received when the ''arisan'' is held. The Bugis people (pronounced ), also known as Buginese, are an ethnicity—the most numerous of the three major linguistic and ethnic groups of South Sulawesi (the others being Makassar and Toraja), in the south-western province of Sulawesi, third-largest island of Indonesia. Mieke Wijaya (born Miecke Marie De Rijder; 17 March 1940 – 3 May 2022) was an Indonesian actress, model, and politician who won three Citra Awards.
