Sunday All Over The World
''Kneeling at the Shrine'' is a 1991 studio album by the British rock band Sunday All Over the World, consisting of Toyah Willcox, Robert Fripp, Trey Gunn, and Paul Beavis. Background The band formed in 1988 and played a short tour under the name Fripp Fripp, during which Toyah performed material from her then-most recent album ''Prostitute'' as a support act. Then, having changed their name to Sunday All Over the World, they played more dates in 1989. ''Kneeling at the Shrine'' was the band's first and only studio album, released by E.G. Records in 1991, after which they disbanded. The album does not include all songs that the band was performing at the concerts. Two of those songs, "Brilliant Day" and "Lords of the Never Known", were released around the same time on Toyah's solo album ''Ophelia's Shadow''. Although Willcox and Fripp are a married couple since 1986, this band was one of the few instances in which the two musicians worked together professionally. Track listing A ... Douglas Brothers
Douglas Brothers is the photographic imprint of Andrew Douglas (10 August 1952) and Stuart Douglas (6 February 1962), British photographer/director siblings. Early life and education The Douglas Brothers grew up in Southend, Essex, UK. Andrew Douglas studied Fine Art at Cardiff and Sunderland Polytechnic Colleges. Their older sibling, Graeme Douglas, was guitarist/songwriter with new wave rock band Eddie And The Hot Rods. Andrew designed an album cover for the Hot Rods, and this led to photographing album covers for the groups The Jam and The Cure. In 1975, Andrew moved to London and began working as assistant to John Swannell and Lord Snowdon. In 1989, Andrew was joined by younger brother, Stuart, a graduate of Barking College of Art. David Singleton (born 1961) is an English record producer, audio engineer, record label director, musician, songwriter, author and Internet entrepreneur. ''Ophelia's Shadow'' is the fourth solo studio album by the British singer Toyah Willcox, released in 1991 by E.G. Records. Some musicians playing on this album have been members of King Crimson at a certain moment, people like Robert Fripp, Gordon Haskell, Keith Tippett and Trey Gunn. Background The album was created with Tony Geballe as well as Trey Gunn and Paul Beavis with whom Toyah and her husband Robert Fripp constituted the band Sunday All Over the World at the same time. It was originally planned as part two of a trilogy, following '' Prostitute''. The title is a reference to Ophelia, a character from William Shakespeare's ''Hamlet'', and Carl Jung's psychological concept of the shadow. ''Prostitute'' is the third solo album by British singer Toyah Willcox, released in 1988 by E.G. Records. Background It is a concept album, highly experimental in nature, marking a considerable divergence from Toyah's previous works. It was inspired particularly by the scrutiny her recent marriage to Robert Fripp was under in the press, which made her feel that she "had gone from all-powerful artist to invisible woman". The material was written and recorded only by Toyah and Steve Sidelnyc in a space of a few weeks. It is presented as a continuous piece of music, although a time-code programme has been provided to enable the listener to access a particular title. Trey Gunn (born December 13, 1960) is an American musician, known for his membership in the progressive rock band King Crimson from 1994 to 2003, playing Warr Guitar and Chapman Stick. Biography A native Texan who now resides in Seattle, Washington, Gunn began his musical life at the age of seven playing classical piano. His interest in music grew through various instruments: electric bass, electric and acoustic guitar, keyboards, and the touch guitar. He moved to Eugene, Oregon, and played in punk bands while he completed a degree in classical music composition at the University of Oregon. He then moved to New York City, where his professional career began. Robert Fripp (born 16 May 1946) is a British musician, songwriter, record producer, and author, best known as the guitarist, founder and longest-lasting member of the progressive rock band King Crimson.
