Sunac China Holdings Limited, or Sunac (), is a major property developer headquartered in Tianjin, China. The company focuses on large-scale, medium to high-end property developments. It does not only focus on its home market of Tianjin, but also has operations in Beijing, Chongqing, Wuxi and other cities. In July 2017, Sunac reached a $9.3 billion deal to buy Dalian Wanda's tourism projects and hotels, forming the second-biggest real estate deal ever in China at the time. 2020–2022 Chinese Property Sector Crisis
The 2020–2022 Chinese property sector crisis is a current financial crisis sparked by the difficulties of Evergrande Group and other Chinese property developers in the wake of new Chinese regulations on these companies' debt limits. The crisis spread beyond Evergrande in 2021, however, and also affected such major property developers as Kaisa Group, Fantasia Holdings, Sunac, Sinic Holdings, and Modern Land. Following widespread online sharing of a letter in August 2021, in which Evergrande reportedly warned the Guangdong government that it was at risk of experiencing a cash crunch, shares in the company plunged, impacting global markets and leading to a significant slow-down of foreign investment in China during the period August to October 2021. Sun Hongbin
Sun Hongbin (; born 1963) is a Chinese American real estate developer. He is the founder, chairman, and majority owner of Sunac. Early life Sun was born in Shanxi province in 1963. Sun received his undergraduate education at the Wuhan Water Conservancy and Electric Power College (which merged into Wuhan University in 2000) and graduated in 1981. He received a Master of Engineering from Tsinghua University in 1985. He attended a six-week advanced management program at Harvard Business School in 2000. Career Sun is the chairman and majority shareholder of Sunac, the Chinese property group. In 1992, he was jailed in China following an embezzlement conviction which was later overturned. In October 2017 he was ordered to do "26 hours of re-education in corporate governance" after being censured for having broken the listing rules of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Nankai District () is a district of Tianjin, People's Republic of China. Nankai District borders the Hai River in the east and Chentangzhuang Railway in the west and south. Dongcheng District, Beijing
The Dongcheng District (; literally "east city district") of Beijing covers the eastern half of Beijing's urban core, including all of the eastern half of the Old City inside of the 2nd Ring Road with the northernmost extent crossing into the area within the 3rd Ring Road. Its area is further subdivided into 17 subdistricts. Settlement in the area dates back over a millennium. It did not formally become a district of the city until the establishment of the Republic of China in 1911.
