Sulochana Devi
Sulochana Latkar (born 30 July 1928) known by her screen name Sulochana, is a well-known actress of Marathi and Hindi cinema and has acted in 50 films in Marathi and around 250 films in Hindi. She is most known for her performances in Marathi films such as ''Sasurvas'' (1946), ''Vahinichya Bangdya'' (1953), ''Meeth Bhakar'', ''Sangtye Aika'' (1959) and ''Dhakti Jau'' in the lead roles, as well as for the mother roles she played in Hindi cinema right from 1959 film ''Dil Dekhe Dekho'' to the year 1995. She and Nirupa Roy epitomized the "mother" roles right from 1959 until the early 1990s. Career Sulochana Latkar made her debut in films in 1946. Maharashtra Bhushan Award
The Maharashtra Bhushan is a highest civilian award presented annually by the Government of Maharashtra State in India. When the Shivsena- BJP alliance came to power in 1995, it proposed to institute this award. The Maharashtra Bhushan was first awarded in 1996. It was initially conferred in every years in the fields of Literature, Art, Sport, and Science. ''Devar'' is a 1966 Hindi film directed by Mohan Sehgal. It stars Dharmendra, Sharmila Tagore, Deven Verma and Shashikala. The music is by Roshan and the lyrics by Anand Bakshi; this is their only film together that met with success. The film is based on the short novel ''Naa'' by the noted Bengali writer Tara Shankar Bandopadhyay. This novel was already adapted into a 1954 Bengali movie of the same name, and the 1962 Tamil movie '' Padithaal Mattum Podhuma''. Jijabai Bhonsle (or Bhonsale, Bhosale, Bhosle) or Jadhav (12 January 1598 – 17 June 1674), referred to as Rajmata, Rastramata, Jijabai or Jijau, was the mother of Shivaji, founder of the Maratha Empire. She was a daughter of Lakhujirao Jadhav of Sindkhed Raja. Kashinath Ghanekar (14 August 1930 - 2 March 1986) was a popular stage actor and dental surgeon. Early life Ghanekar was born in the Chiplun and did his schooling and higher studies in Chiplun, Maharashtra, India. Personal life He married twice. He was married to Irawati M. Bhide, a gynaecologist and obstetrician. His first marriage was childless and ended in divorce. He subsequently married a much younger Kanchan, the daughter of Marathi actress Sulochana Latkar.
