Suleiman Tayeb Ahmed Salem
Suleiman Tayeb Ahmed Salem ( ar, الطيب أحمد سليمان سالم) is the current Sahrawi ambassador to Nicaragua, also accredited non-resident ambassador to Belize, with a base in Managua. On August 30, 2000 he was injured in an accident, when the light aircraft he was travelling in crashed immediately after taking off from Albrook "Marcos A. Gelabert" International Airport. Diplomatic postings On November 20, 1997 he presented his letter of credentials to President Ernesto Pérez Balladares as the new Sahrawi ambassador to the Republic of Panama. He was later in 1998 also accredited as non-resident ambassador to Costa Rica until 2000; and on November 7, 2005 he presented his credentials to Sir Colville Young, as the first Sahrawi non-resident ambassador to Belize. Excellency
Excellency is an honorific style given to certain high-level officers of a sovereign state, officials of an international organization, or members of an aristocracy. Once entitled to the title "Excellency", the holder usually retains the right to that courtesy throughout their lifetime, although in some cases the title is attached to a particular office, and is held only for the duration of that office. Generally people addressed as ''Excellency'' are heads of state, heads of government, governors, ambassadors, Roman Catholic bishops and high-ranking ecclesiastics and others holding equivalent rank (e.g., heads of international organizations). Colville Young
Sir Colville Norbert Young (born 20 November 1932) is a Belizeans, Belizean politician who served as the 2nd Governor-General of Belize. He is also a patron of the Scouting, Scout Association of Belize. He was appointed as the Governor-General in 1993, taking office on 17 November of that year, and was knighted in 1994. His tenure of 28 years is the longest of any governor-general in the history of the Commonwealth. Education Sir Colville studied at Belize's St Michael's College (now part of Anglican Cathedral College (ACC) and not to be confused with the institution now known as Maud Williams High School), and earned a Bachelor of Arts, BA degree in English from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica, prior to his doctorate in linguistics from the University of York in England. ''El Siglo'' ("The Century") is a Spanish language daily newspaper published in Panama. It was founded on 9 January 1985 and as of 2010 had the largest circulation of any Panamanian newspaper. Samuel Lewis Navarro (born on July 15, 1957, in Panama City) was the First Vice President and Foreign Minister of Panama. He served in these posts from 1 September 2004 to 1 July 2009 during the administration of President Martín Torrijos. Lewis was elected First Vice President of the Republic of Panama for the period 2004-2009 by popular vote on May 2, 2004. Sahara Press Service (SPS) is the multi-lingual official press agency of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, the government in exile of the Western Sahara. The agency mainly report government-related news and current Sahrawi affairs, both from the liberated territories, the occupied territories and the Sahrawi refugee camps in Tindouf, Algeria. History The Polisario Front recognised the importance of press at an early stage. They took journalists to occupied territories and established the Sahara Press Service at the Sahrawi refugee camps on 29 March 1999 (A POLISARIO agency press had been founded previously in 1980). The Sahara Press Service Dispatches began to be posted on the internet since April 1999, due to the combined efforts of the Friends of Sahrawi People in Switzerland and Spain.
