Sukant Kadam
Sukant Indukant Kadam (born 9 May 1993) is an Indian professional para-badminton player. Having made his international debut in 2014, he became world number 2 in the SL4 category on 12 June 2017. He won his first title at the Uganda Para-Badminton International in 2017. He currently lives in Pune, Maharashtra. Early life and training Kadam was born and brought up in Kautholi which is a small town of Sangli, Maharashtra. He came to Pune for his study at Government College Of Engineering And Research, Avasari Khurd in mechanical engineering and passed out in 2015 with first class. Afterwards, he joined Nikhil Kanetkar Badminton Academy and trained under Nikhil Kanetkar and Mayank Gole since July 2015. 2019 BWF Para-Badminton World Championships
The 2019 BWF Para-Badminton World Championships was held from 20 to 25 August 2019 in Basel, Switzerland. Host city selection After Basel was selected to be the host of 2019 BWF World Championships in March 2019, the organizing team proposed to hold the able-bodied badminton world championships together the para-badminton world championships. The proposal was approved by Badminton World Federation thus marking the first time Para-Badminton World Championships is held together with World Badminton Championships in the same venue. Yoyogi National Gymnasium
Yoyogi National Gymnasium, officially is an indoor arena located at Yoyogi Park in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan, which is famous for its suspension roof design. It was designed by Kenzo Tange and built between 1961 and 1964 to house swimming and diving events in the 1964 Summer Olympics. A separate annex was used for the basketball competition at those same games. It will also host handball competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics. The design inspired Frei Otto's arena designs for the Olympic Stadium in Munich. The arena holds 13,291 people (9,079 stand seats, 4,124 arena seats and 88 "royal box" seats) and is now primarily used for ice hockey, futsal and basketball. Shiv Chhatrapati Award
Shiv Chhatrapati Award (also known as Shiv Chhatrapati State Sports Award) is the highest prestigious sports award honoured annually to the players of Maharashtra by the Government of Maharashtra in India . The Government of Maharashtra instituted in 1969–70 a scheme for giving the Shiv Chhatrapati State Awards to sportsmen and women. The State Government has approved 24 games for men and 12 for women for this purpose. Prize and selection At present, the award carries a cash prize of 3 lakh, a memento with a headgear of Shiv Chhatrapati, a sword, and Jari Patka placed in a tray supported by a wooden stand and citation along with lifetime right to travel by MSRTC bus free of cost. Para-badminton is a variant of badminton for athletes with a range of physical disabilities. Badminton World Federation (BWF) is the main governing body for para-badminton starting from June 2011. The sport was governed by Para Badminton World Federation (PBWF) until a unanimous decision to join BWF during a meeting in Dortmund in June 2011. Girisha Hosanagara Nagarajegowda (born 26 January 1988), also known as Girish N. Gowda is paralympic high jumper from India. He was born with a disability in the left leg. He represented India in the 2012 Summer Paralympic games held in London in the men's high jump F-42 category and won the silver medal in the finals with a jump of 1.74 meters using scissors technique.
