Sujatha (writer)
S. Rangarajan (3 May 1935 – 27 February 2008), better known by his allonym Sujatha, was an Indian author, novelist and screenwriter who wrote in Tamil language, Tamil. He authored over 100 novels, 250 short stories, ten books on science, ten stage plays, and a slim volume of poems. He was one of the most popular authors in Tamil literature, and a regular contributor to topical columns in Tamil periodicals such as Ananda Vikatan, Kumudam and Kalki (magazine), Kalki. He had a wide readership, and served for a brief period as the editor of Kumudam, and has also written screenplays and dialogues for several Tamil films. Sujatha was also an engineer; he supervised the design and production of the Indian voting machines, electronic voting machine (Electronic voting, EVM) during his tenure at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a machine which is currently used in elections throughout India. James Hadley Chase (24 December 1906 – 6 February 1985) was an English writer. While his birth name was René Lodge Brabazon Raymond, he was well known by his various pseudonyms, including James Hadley Chase, James L. Docherty, Raymond Marshall, R. Raymond, and Ambrose Grant. He was one of the best known thriller writers of all time. The canon of Chase, comprising 90 titles, earned him a reputation as the king of thriller writers in Europe. ''Kolaiyuthir Kalam'' () is a thriller novel by Sujatha. It is another interesting story featuring Ganesh-Vasanth duo. The story has many deathlike themes such as leaves falling from a tree which are contrastingly named, attracting the interest of readers. The story was written in the early 80's and involves high-tech scientific concepts which were very new to that period. It was made into a television serial and aired on Doordarshan's Podhigai channel. Plot ''Ganesh'' and ''Vasanth'' visit a town for legal purpose involving settling down property inheritance issue. They meet a man ''Kumara Vyasan'', guardian of an innocent, amateur girl heir named Leena. ''En Iniya Iyanthira'' ( en, My Dear Machine) is a Tamil dystopian science fiction novel written by Indian writer Sujatha. In the late 1980s Sujatha wrote this novel as a series in the popular Tamil magazine '' Dinamani Kathir''. Following the success of ''En Iniya Enthira'', Sujatha wrote a follow-up/sequel to this novel, ''Meendum Jeano''. The novel was made into a serial and released on Doordarshan in 1991. The main antagonist Jeeva was played by veteran actor Charu Haasan, Nila by Sivaranjini, Sibi by Shiva and Ravi by Anand.
