Sugar Creek (Wyaconda River)
Sugar Creek is a stream in Clark and Lewis Counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the Wyaconda River. The stream source is in southern Clark County approximately one-half mile north of the Clark-Lewis county line at and an elevation of about 720 feet. The stream flows to the east-southeast into Lewis County and passes about one mile north of Williamstown. It continues to the southeast passing the community of Benjamin where it turns more to the southeast and crosses under Missouri Route 16. It enters the Wyaconda River approximately three miles west of Canton at at an elevation of 522 feet. Sugar Creek most likely was named for the sugar maple trees along its course. Clark County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 census, its population was 6,634. Its county seat is Kahoka. Wyaconda River
Wyaconda River is a stream in Davis County, in the U.S. state of Iowa, and Lewis and Clark counties in Missouri. It is a tributary of the Mississippi River. It is the third most northeastern stream in Missouri, following the Des Moines River and the Fox River. The source of both the North and South Forks are near Bloomfield, Iowa. The confluence of the two forks is about 35 miles away in west central Clark County about 3.5 miles east-northeast of Wyaconda at . The stream flows to the southeast into Lewis County about 1.5 miles southwest of St. Patrick and Missouri Route 81. Missouri Route 16
Route 16 is a highway in Lewis County, Missouri. The western terminus is at Route 6 east of Lewistown. The route travels eastward, through Monticello and over a few rivers. Route 16 then intersects U.S. Route 61 (US 61). The route ends at US 61 Business and Route B in Canton. The road was formerly part of Route 6, but it was rerouted in 1931. The old alignment was renumbered Route 96 that year. Ten years later, the route was renumbered to Route 16. Route description All of Route 16 is in Lewis County. Canton, Missouri
Canton is a city in Lewis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 2,774 at the 2020 census. Canton is the home of Culver-Stockton College, a small liberal arts college affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
