Subotica Airport
Subotica Airfield ( sr, Аеродром Суботица / ''Aerodrom Subotica'') , also locally known as Bikovo Aerodrome ( sr, Аеродром Биково / ''Aerodrom Bikovo''), is a recreational aerodrome near the city of Subotica, Serbia. It has one runway that is 1,200 metre, m long and 100 m wide. The field is mostly used for air sport with active Skydive Drop Zone, Pilot School for Glider pilot license (SPL) and private pilot license (PPL) as well as pilot rating courses : Glider towing STR; Aerobatics ARB; Flight instructor FI and NVFR. The club members are very active in paragliding and power kite piloting, too. Aeroklub Ivan Sarić is the operator of Subotica Aerodrome. Subotica ( sr-cyrl, Суботица, ; hu, Szabadka) is a List of cities in Serbia, city and the administrative center of the North Bačka District in the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. Formerly the largest city of Vojvodina region, contemporary Subotica is now the second largest city in the province, following the city of Novi Sad. According to the 2011 census, the city itself has a population of 97,910, while the urban area of Subotica (with adjacent urban settlement of Palić included) has 105,681 inhabitants, and the population of metro area (the administrative area of the city) stands at 141,554 people. Ivan Sarić
Ivan Sarić (27 June 1876 – 23 August 1966) was a Yugoslavian sportsman and aviator. He founded the athletic club ŽAK Subotica in his hometown of Subotica. He was also one of the most important pioneers of aviation in Eastern Europe. As a cyclist, he competed in and won many races throughout Europe. He lived and worked as a bookkeeper in his hometown. Life Ivan Sarić was born in Subotica, then in Austria-Hungary, (today in Serbia) in a family of Bunjevci. While finishing Trade Academy in his native town, Sarić took to sports early – he was an athlete, wrestler and one of the founders of the local football club. He began cycling in 1891 and soon became one of the best cyclists in the Kingdom of Hungary, taking second place in the 1896 international race in Pécs. He became the champion of the Kingdom of Hungary on a 10-kilometer track in 1897 and then again a year later. Pilot licensing or certification refers to permits for operating aircraft. Flight crew licences are regulated by ICAO Annex 1 and issued by the civil aviation authority of each country. CAA’s have to establish that the holder has met a specific set of knowledge and experience before issuing the licence.
