Trinseo is a global specialty material solutions provider, focusing particularly on the manufacture of plastics and latex binders. Trinseo (formerly known as Styron) was part of the Dow Chemical Company until Dow grouped several of its businesses for potential sale in 2009. Cinnamyl Alcohol
Cinnamyl alcohol or styron is an organic compound that is found in esterified form in storax, Balsam of Peru, and cinnamon leaves. It forms a white crystalline solid when pure, or a yellow oil when even slightly impure. It can be produced by the hydrolysis of storax. Cinnamyl alcohol has a distinctive odour described as "sweet, balsam, hyacinth, spicy, green, powdery, cinnamic" and is used in perfumery and as a deodorant. Cinnamyl alcohol is naturally occurrent only in small amount, so its industrial demand is usually fulfilled by chemical synthesis starting from cinnamaldehyde. Properties The compound is a solid at room temperature, forming colourless crystals that melt upon gentle heating. As is typical of most higher-molecular weight alcohols, it is sparingly soluble in water at room temperature, but highly soluble in most common organic solvents. Claire Alexandra Styron known as Alexandra Styron, is an American author and professor. Early life and education Styron is the youngest child of author William Styron and poet and human rights activist Rose Burgunder. She grew up in Roxbury, Connecticut, and in Martha’s Vineyard. Styron attended Barnard College, and later the MFA Creative Writing program at Columbia University. Donald Augustus Styron (born March 18, 1940) is the world record holder in the 200 meter low hurdles. He remains the current world record holder partly because the event has not been run frequently by elite athletes since the early 1960s. Hurdler Don Styron was an identical twin, his younger brother (by 24 minutes) being David Styron (a sprinter). The brothers only had come to Colorado from southeast Kansas in 1955. During the depression, the boys lived on a farm without electricity or running water until seventh grade. They would race each other home from their one room schoolhouse. The move to Denver was a major social change. First they went to North High School where they were victims of a fight every day. The brothers demanded a change.
