Stylianos Argyropoulos
Stylianos "Stelios" Argyropoulos-Kanakakis (born 2 August 1996) is a Greek water polo player, who is a member of Greece men's national water polo team. He is part of Greece national team that competes at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest. He started his career in Ethnikos, a club with great tradition in water polo. He was named best rookie of the Greek championship in 2015 and 2016. He then played for Greek powerhouse Olympiacos, with whom he won the 2017–18 LEN Champions League, 2 Greek Championships and 1 Greek Cup. He is currently a player of VK Jug. Greece Men's National Water Polo Team
The Greece men's national water polo team represents Greece in international men's water polo competitions and it is organized and run by the Hellenic Swimming Federation. Greece has a long tradition of strong presence at international level, with their major successes being the two bronze medals won at the World Championship in 2005 and 2015. The Greeks have also won a silver medal at the World Cup in 1997, three bronze medals at the World League in 2004, 2006 and 2016, as well as one silver (2018) and four bronze medals (1951, 1991, 1993, 2013) at the Mediterranean Games. Moreover, they have closely missed a medal in the 2016 European Championship, the 2004 Olympic Games, the 2003 World Championship and the 1999 European Championship, ending up in the 4th place in all four of them. The 2014–15 A1 Ethniki is the 84th season of the Greek premier Water polo league and the 29th of A1 Ethniki. The winner of the league was Olympiacos, which beat Panathinaikos in the league's playoff's finals. It was the first final of the eternal enemies in Water Polo Championship. Greek Water Polo Cup
The Greek Water Polo cup is the second most important competition of Greek men's waterpolo and is organised by KOE (Hellenic Swimming Federation). It was first held in 1953. Initially started as a competition in memory of Pantelis Psychas, Greek athlete of the swimming. The competition was interrupted from 1959 to 1983. Moreover, it wasn't held in 1993-94 season. From 1998-99 season the Final Four system was instituted. Olympiacos Piraeus have won the most titles (23), followed by Ethnikos Piraeus (12). The 2018–19 LEN Champions League was the 56th edition of LEN's premier competition for men's water polo clubs. LEN Champions League
The LEN Champions League is the top-tier European professional water polo club competition with teams from up to 18 countries. It is organized by the Ligue Européenne de Natation. The competition started in 1963 as European Cup. A change of name and format occurred in 1996, with the competition being renamed Champions League and the final four system being established as the format of choice, for the first time during the 1996–97 LEN Champions League. From 2003 to 2011 the competition was named LEN Euroleague (with the change of name being simply a re-branding) and from 2011 and on LEN Champions League, its current name.
