Stromberg Guitars
Stromberg Guitars was an American company producing guitars, mainly for jazz musicians, between 1906 and 1955. They produced only around 640 guitars, and are noted for their craftsmanship, similar to the high standards of John D'Angelico. Stromberg's guitars are praised for their superb sound quality and for their contribution to the development of the jazz guitar. History The company was founded by Charles Stromberg, a Swedish immigrant to Boston, Massachusetts, in 1906, who had learned the trade at the local Thompson & Odell company. His oldest son, Harry, worked with him until 1927, and in 1910, his son Elmer (later praised as responsible for "some of the finest archtop jazz guitars ever made") joined him in the business. Initially Stromberg was making mainly banjos and mandolins, but when in the 1920s the guitar began to replace the banjo among professional musicians Stromberg followed suit and in 1927 produced their first carved-top guitars. The first series was the G-series, ...

Karl Stromberg
Karl Sigmund Stromberg is a fictional character and the main antagonist in the 1977 James Bond film '' The Spy Who Loved Me''. Stromberg was portrayed by Curd Jürgens. The character Stromberg was created specifically for the film by writer Christopher Wood. Ian Fleming's novel '' The Spy Who Loved Me'' was not told from Bond's perspective, but, rather, a Bond girl who is in love with him. The entire plot of the film has actually nothing to do at all with the plot of the novel. This was at Fleming's request; when he sold the rights to his novel to Eon Productions he requested only the title be used. Biography The webbed-fingered Karl Stromberg is a successful self-employed businessman as head of his own shipping firm and chain of laboratories. Stromberg's obsession and passion is the ocean where he lives in his palace, named Atlantis, that could submerge itself underwater so as not to be seen or detected. Located off the coast of Sardinia, Italy, Atlantis has everything to support ...

Strömberg Wavelet
In mathematics, the Strömberg wavelet is a certain orthonormal wavelet discovered by Jan-Olov Strömberg and presented in a paper published in 1983.Janos-Olov Strömberg, ''A modified Franklin system and higher order spline systems on Rn as unconditional bases for Hardy spaces'', Conference on Harmonic Analysis in Honor of A. Zygmond, Vol. II, W. Beckner, et al (eds.) Wadsworth, 1983, pp.475-494 Even though the Haar wavelet was earlier known to be an orthonormal wavelet, Strömberg wavelet was the first smooth orthonormal wavelet to be discovered. The term ''wavelet'' had not been coined at the time of publishing the discovery of Strömberg wavelet and Strömberg's motivation was to find an orthonormal basis for the Hardy spaces. Definition Let ''m'' be any non-negative integer. Let ''V'' be any discrete subset of the set ''R'' of real numbers. Then ''V'' splits ''R'' into non-overlapping intervals. For any ''r'' in ''V'', let ''I''''r'' denote the interval determined by ''V'' w ...
