Heuchelberg
The Heuchelberg is a hill ridge, about 15 kilometres long and up to , a few kilometres southwest of the city of Heilbronn in the eponymous county in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Location The Heuchelberg and the adjacent Stromberg region south of the River Zaber both give their names to the Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park founded in 1980, the third nature park in Baden-Württemberg. The Heuchelberg runs through the western part of the county of Heilbronn between Leingarten in the northeast and Zaberfeld in the southwest. It lies on the territories of the following towns and villages (clockwise from the northeast): Leingarten, Nordheim, Brackenheim, Güglingen, Pfaffenhofen and Zaberfeld (in the southwest) and Eppingen (only the municipality of Kleingartach), Schwaigern and finally Leingarten again. Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park
The Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park covers 328.2 km² and is part of the districts of Ludwigsburg, Heilbronn, Karlsruhe and Enzkreis in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, with Ludwigsburg having the largest share. The nature park is characterised by the two mountain ranges, Stromberg and Heuchelberg. Geologically, the nature park belongs to the Keuper Uplands. The southern slopes of the Stromberg are suitable for viticulture. Numerous hiking trails lead through the nature park. A large part of the area is forested. At the request of the city of Bretten, an area of woodland of about 20 hectares in the Bretten district was taken out of the nature park, the area was cleared and is now available as an extension of the Gölshausen industrial estate. In 2004, 6,000 signatures were collected against this project by the "Initiative Rüdtwald", which is committed to the preservation of the mixed forest, which is particularly ecologically valuable there. Leingarten () is a town in the district of Heilbronn, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated 7 km west of Heilbronn. It was formed 1 January 1970, when the municipalities of Großgartach and Schluchtern merged. Geography Location Leingarten is situated in the west of the district of Heilbronn at the Lein, a feeder of the river Neckar, at the base of the Heuchelberg. Geography Zaberfeld lies in the Zabergäu, in the southwestern corner of the Heilbronn district, at the head of the Zaber river. Zaber
The Zaber () is a minor tributary of the River Neckar in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is some 22 km in length and joins the Neckar from the west at Lauffen am Neckar. It has given its name to the Zabergäu, the area between the Heuchelberg and Stromberg hills. Name The first mention is from the year 793 as ''Zabernahgouwe'' (Zabernachgau). Traditionally it is assumed that the name is derived from the Latin word ''Taberna'' ("restaurant", "street station").
