Streetlab
Streetlab is a live electronic rock production duo out of New York City formed by Mark "Coz" Lamorg and Ryan Leary. The two approach music with an appeal to both rockers and dancers. The duo raised attention with many of their classic rock remixes, bringing music like Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Rolling Stones into the electronic/dance genre. Streetlab has currently been remixing nonstop, and playing live shows in support of their debut EP. The two plan a second release of original music in mid-2009. Heartsrevolution
HEARTSREVOLUTION is a New York-based band, described by ''NME'' as "the model for the modern pop group." The band consists of Ben Pollock and Leyla 'Lo' Safai, joined for live performances by drummer Terry 'Prince Terrence' Campbell, who has also performed with post-hardcore bands Christiansen and Your Highness Electric, as well as Santigold and Spank Rock. The band was featured in NME's 'Future 50,' a list of 'the innovators pushing music forward,' in 2008 at number 36. The band relies on unusual modes of transport to all of their concerts and in April 2008 mounted an ice cream truck for their first tour of the UK. They have so far released a 12" called ''Ultraviolence'', an EP entitled ''Switchblade'', a split 6" along with Crystal Castles and another EP, ''C.Y.O.A.'' 12". Prophet Omega (musician)
Prophet Omega (real name Omega Townsend; August 27, 1927 – February 28, 1992) was a weekly radio evangelist broadcasting in Nashville, Tennessee on Music Row’s WNAH in the 1970s. He was founder of the Peaceway Temple then located at "Apartment Q-258 at 488 Lemont Drive" (the Kenmont Apartments). He has become most known for the recordings of his sermons which became popular among musicians in the 1980s. Prior to entering the "prophet circuit" Townsend was a carnival worker. Music subculture By way of cassette recordings Prophet Omega's sermons developed a cult following among road musicians in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The cassettes were favorites on musician tour buses. Excerpts of his sermons have been sampled into rock music and quotes from his sermons have become the namesake of music projects. Black is a color which results from the absence or complete absorption of visible light. It is an achromatic color, without hue, like white and grey. Crystal Castles (band)
Crystal Castles was a Canadian electronic music group formed in 2006 in Toronto, Ontario, formed by songwriter-producer Ethan Kath and singer-songwriter Alice Glass, who later left and was replaced by Edith Frances. Crystal Castles were known for their chaotic live shows and lo-fi melancholic homemade productions. They released many limited vinyl singles between 2006 and 2007 before releasing four studio albums between 2008 and 2016. Glass announced her departure from the band in October 2014, citing personal and professional reasons. Three years later, during the band's tour to support their fourth album, ''Amnesty (I)'', Glass accused Kath of sexual misconduct during her time in Crystal Castles, causing the remaining tour dates to be cancelled. The Chemical Brothers are an English electronic music duo formed by Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons in Manchester in 1989. Thieves Like Us is a multinational Electronic music band led by vocalist and guitarist Andy Grier, with a fluid lineup of members ranging from Berlin to the UK and Scandinavia. The band's music has often featured heavy use of electronic elements but is also influenced by the krautrock, Italo disco, glam punk, French touch and hip-hop genres. The Octopus Project
The Octopus Project is an American indietronica band based in Austin, Texas, active since 1999. Their sound blends pop and experimental elements, and is a combination of digital and electronic sounds and noises (including drum machine, keyboard, synthesizers and other devices) and analog equipment (including guitars and live drums). The band's music is mostly instrumental. On April 30, 2006, the Octopus Project performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
