Jane Straughan
Jane Sincell Straughan (August 24, 1913 – March 12, 2007) was an American aviator known for her contribution as a Women Airforce Service Pilot from 1942 to 1944. She remained active in aviation throughout her life, serving on the Civil Aeronautics Board and being a captain in the Air Force Reserve. Childhood Jane Sincell Straughan was born on August 24, 1913, in Washington, D.C. She was the daughter of Charles William Sincell and Wilhelmina Sincell. At the age of two Straughan's mother died and Charles William Sincell was left to raise the family, which included her and her two older brothers. Her entire childhood was spent in Washington, D.C. Paulin Tay Straughan
Paulin Tay Straughan (born 8 April 1963) is the dean of students at Singapore Management University (SMU), where she is also a professor of sociology (practice). She was an associate professor and vice-dean at the National University of Singapore from 1991 to 2017. Early life and education Straughan was educated at the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus and Catholic Junior College, before going on to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and statistics at the National University of Singapore. She then went on to the University of Virginia in the United States, where she earned a Master of Arts and a PhD in sociology. Peter Straughan
Peter Straughan (born 1968) is a British playwright, screenwriter and author, based in the north-east of England. He was writer-in-residence at Newcastle's Live Theatre Company. Whilst there, Live staged his plays, ''Bones'' and ''Noir''. Both of these plays have displayed Straughan's talent for writing dark, twisted and witty stories. Early life His first ambition was to be a professional musician and he achieved this while playing bass guitar with Newcastle-based band "The Honest Johns". He spent four years touring and recording with the band through the late 1980s and into the early 1990s before leaving to take up full-time education at Newcastle University. While Peter was a student he was also a member of the band Cactusman.
