''Stranger Songs'' is the eighth studio album by American singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson. It was released on June 28, 2019, by Cabin 24 Records. The album contains music that is inspired by Netflix television series '' Stranger Things'', with the album released shortly prior to the premiere of its third season. In addition to the album, Michaelson is composing music for a stage adaptation of the 2004 film ''The Notebook''. Ingrid Ellen Michaelson (born December 8, 1979) is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Her first album, '' Slow the Rain,'' was released in 2005, and she has since released eight more albums: '' Girls and Boys,'' '' Be OK'', '' Everybody'', '' Human Again'', '' Lights Out'', ''It Doesn't Have to Make Sense'', ''Songs for the Season'', and her most recent, '' Stranger Songs.'' Cason Jay Cooley (born November 28, 1978, in Akron, Ohio) is an American record producer, audio engineer, composer, songwriter, and musician. He was raised in Wichita, Kansas. As a child, Cooley often accompanied his parents, who toured the country as a part of the Cathedral Quartet. In 1997, Cooley moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he became a member of The Normals in 1998. He toured with the band from 1998 until 2002, when the band broke up.
