Stonehouse (Bristol Road) railway station, also known as Stroudwater station after the nearby canal, was a station in Stonehouse, England, on the Bristol and Gloucester Railway between Haresfield and Frocester. History The station was called, first and unofficially, Eastington Road and then, officially, Bristol Road to distinguish it from a second station, Stonehouse (Burdett Road), which was on the Cheltenham and Great Western Union Railway, now the Golden Valley Line, between Gloucester and Swindon. Its proximity to the older Stroudwater Navigation, opened in 1779, led to this name also coming into local usage. Bristol Road station was the junction for the Stonehouse and Nailsworth Railway's branch line to Nailsworth, which later had a small branch line of its own to Stroud. The Sloan–Parker House, also known as the Stone House, Parker Family Residence, or Richard Sloan House, is a late-18th-century stone residence near Junction, Hampshire County, in the U.S. state of West Virginia. It was built on land vacated by the Shawnee after the Native American nation had been violently forced to move west to Kansas following their defeat at the Battle of Point Pleasant in 1774. The Ralph Hardesty Stone House is a historic house located on Main Street in Norwich, Ohio. Description and history The house is a two-story stone building with a slate gable roof. The facade on the south has three bays with the door in the center bay. The original house was . The native sandstone used in construction is dressed and shows numerous tooling marks. The west gable end of the building show evidence an addition might have been attached there. This is supported by early tax records describing a "stone and brick" house. The interior retains much of the original design with an open two run stairway off a central hall. The stairway has a plain railing and delicate square balusters. The Stone House is an historic house at 15-17 Plain Street in Taunton, Massachusetts. Built in 1847, this -story stone structure is one of only two stone houses built in Taunton in the 19th century. Its walls are fashioned out of coursed granite, and it has a single-story porch across its front facade, supported by stone piers.
