Stockum
Stockum is an urban quarter of Düsseldorf, part of Borough 5. It is located north of Unterrath and Golzheim, east of Kaiserswerth, west of Lohausen and the Düsseldorf Airport, south of Kalkum. Stockum has an area of , and 5,596 inhabitants (2020). Stockum became a part of Düsseldorf in 1909. In 1971 the Düsseldorf Exhibition Center went to Stockum. It has 18 halls and an exhibition area of about 200,000 m². There is a huge park (Nordpark) in Stockum, too. In that park there is an aqua zoo and a Japanese garden. Borough 5 (Düsseldorf)
Borough 5 () is a northern borough of Düsseldorf, the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Düsseldorf's International Airport is located in the borough. It is the largest borough by land area, but also the least populated. The borough covers an area of 50.75 square kilometres and (as of December 2020) has about 34,500 inhabitants. Stadtbezirk 5 borders with the Düsseldorf boroughs 1 and 6 to the South, and - via a shared border across the Rhine - borough 4 to the South-West. To the West - also across the Rhine - it borders with Rhein-Kreis Neuss. Further it shares borders with the city of Duisburg to the North, and Kreis Mettmann to the East. Düsseldorf-Golzheim
Golzheim is a quarter of Düsseldorf in Borough 1 on the Rhine, just north of the city center. It is primarily a business and hotel district, but retains some of the old stately villas. History The oldest parts of Düsseldorf are to be found in Golzheim and Stockum, but the Golzheim area was not so built-up that it could not accommodate the large international Trade Fair of 1902, and thus was established as the primary Düsseldorf exhibition site. It hosted the international national Health Fair of 1926 and the huge cultural NSDAP Exhibition of 1937. The waterfront on the Rhine, the ''Rheinpark Golzheim'', owes its shape to these exhibitions. Esprit Arena
Merkur Spielarena (stylized as MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA), previously known as the Esprit Arena (until 2 August 2018), the LTU Arena (until June 2009), and as the Düsseldorf Arena (during the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest), is a multi-functional football stadium in Düsseldorf, Germany. The stadium holds 54,600 and has a retractable roof. Its special heating system allows the stadium to host comfortable events at the height of winter. Kaiserswerth is one of the oldest quarters of the City of Düsseldorf, part of Borough 5. It is in the north of the city and next to the river Rhine. It houses the where Florence Nightingale worked. Kaiserswerth has an area of , and 7,923 inhabitants (2020). History About the year 700 the monk Saint Suitbert founded a Benedictine abbey at Werth, a river island that formed an important crossing point of the Rhine. The abbey was destroyed 88 years later. Kalkum is an urban quarter of Düsseldorf, part of Borough 5. It is in the north of the city, neighboring to Kaiserswerth, Angermund, Wittlaer and Ratingen. It has an area of , and 1,982 inhabitants (2020). Kalkum has been existing latest since the 12th century CE. The old church of Kalkum and the old mill are from that century. The Castle Kalkum was in earlier times the seat of the Hatzfelds. Before that castle was built, there was another castle from the middle age.
