Düsseldorf-Golzheim
Golzheim is a quarter of Düsseldorf in Borough 1 on the Rhine, just north of the city center. It is primarily a business and hotel district, but retains some of the old stately villas. History The oldest parts of Düsseldorf are to be found in Golzheim and Stockum, but the Golzheim area was not so built-up that it could not accommodate the large international Trade Fair of 1902, and thus was established as the primary Düsseldorf exhibition site. It hosted the international national Health Fair of 1926 and the huge cultural NSDAP Exhibition of 1937. The waterfront on the Rhine, the ''Rheinpark Golzheim'', owes its shape to these exhibitions. Started in 1947, the annual Düsseldorf Trade Fair was held in Golzheim in the ''Ehrenhof'' complex, until the new exhibition grounds were built next to the Düsseldorf Airport, airport in 1971. Many of the apartments, surrounding the area of ''Kaiserswerther Straße'' and ''Uerdinger Straße'', were used as holiday apartments for membe ...

Borough 1 (Düsseldorf)
Borough 1 () is the central borough of Düsseldorf, the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany and the city's commercial and cultural center. The borough covers an area of 11.31 square kilometres and (as of December 2020) has about 86,000 inhabitants. Despite being one of Düsseldorf's smallest boroughs by area, Stadtbezirk 1 includes several distinct quarters: the city's Medieval Altstadt is known as an entertainment district with plenty of Altbier pubs and bars, while the adjacent Baroque-style Carlstadt has a very Bohemian character. Stadtmitte is the city's shopping and central business district, extending into the three Gründerzeit quarters of Pempelfort, Derendorf and Golzheim - the latter three also being popular as both business locations and residential areas. The entire borough has a high density of institutions and enterprises associated with the arts and culture in general. The borough shares borders (clockwise from north) with Düsseldorf boroughs ...

New Synagogue (Düsseldorf)
The New Synagogue (german: Leo Baeck Saal) is the synagogue of the Jewish community in Düsseldorf, Germany. The synagogue was built in the Golzheim district, far from the site of the former synagogue, which was located in the city center at Kasernenstraße. There the synagogue, built in 1905, was pillaged and burned by SA men during the Kristallnacht in 1938. The synagogue is named after rabbi Leo Baeck, who served as a pulpit rabbi in Düsseldorf. It was inaugurated in September 1958. On 3 October 2000, the synagogue was firebombed. Since then, there is a constant police watch over the synagogue. Arson attack On October 2, 2000, two Arab immigrants committed an arson attack against the synagogue with three Molotov cocktails. Although the perpetrators remained unknown for over two months, most media suspected the attack was done by far-right antisemites.

Düsseldorf Stadtteil Golzheim
Düsseldorf ( , , ; often in English sources; Low Franconian and Ripuarian: ''Düsseldörp'' ; archaic nl, Dusseldorp ) is the capital city of North Rhine-Westphalia, the most populous state of Germany. It is the second-largest city in the state and the seventh-largest city in Germany, with a population of 617,280. Düsseldorf is located at the confluence of two rivers: the Rhine and the Düssel, a small tributary. The ''-dorf'' suffix means "village" in German (English cognate: ''thorp''); its use is unusual for a settlement as large as Düsseldorf. Most of the city lies on the right bank of the Rhine. Düsseldorf lies in the centre of both the Rhine-Ruhr and the Rhineland Metropolitan Region. It neighbours the Cologne Bonn Region to the south and the Ruhr to the north. It is the largest city in the German Low Franconian dialect area (closely related to Dutch). Mercer's 2012 Quality of Living survey ranked Düsseldorf the sixth most livable city in the world. Dü ...
