Stock Series is a touring car racing series based in Brazil. The series returned in 2018 as Stock Light, having replaced the previous Campeonato Brasileiro de Turismo, Copa Chevrolet Montana formerly known as Stock Car Copa Vicar, Stock Car Light, and Stock Car B which had run since 1993. The series is the category of access to Stock Car Brasil. Touring Car Racing
Touring car racing is a motorsport road racing competition with heavily modified road-going cars. It has both similarities to and significant differences from stock car racing, which is popular in the United States. While the cars do not move as fast as those in Formula racing, formula or sports car racing, sports car races, their similarity both to one another and to fans' own vehicles makes for entertaining, well-supported racing. The lesser use of aerodynamics means following cars have a much easier time passing than in open-wheel racing, and the more substantial bodies of the cars makes the subtle bumping and nudging for overtaking much more acceptable as part of racing. Sperafico is the surname of a family of Brazilian racing drivers. Ten members of the family have competed in racing series both worldwide and in Brazil. Rafael Sperafico
Rafael Sperafico (22 April 1981 – 9 December 2007) was a Brazilian racing driver. He was the cousin of fellow racing drivers Ricardo and Rodrigo, and also related to Alexandre. He was born in Toledo, Paraná. Career Barber Dodge Sperafico competed in the United States-based Barber Dodge Pro Series from 2000 to 2002, finishing as championship runner-up in his final year. Euro F3000 Sperafico moved to Europe for 2003 to compete in the Euro Formula 3000 series, where he finished 15th in the championship with two points. He thus followed in the footsteps of his relatives Ricardo, Rodrigo and Alexandre, who had all previously competed in the FIA International version of the series. The 2015 Bravar Campeonato Brasileiro de Turismo (''Brazilian Touring Championship''), also known as Stock Car Brasil Light, was the third season of the Campeonato Brasileiro de Turismo, a second-tier series to Stock Car Brasil. With a fourteenth-place finish in the final race at Interlagos, Márcio Campos clinched the championship title for the Motortech Competições team.
