Stjórnin
Stjórnin is an Icelandic music duo composed of singers Grétar Örvarsson, born 11 July 1959, and Sigríður Beinteinsdóttir, born 24 July 1962. Together they represented Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1990 held in Zagreb. Their entry, "Eitt lag enn" was placed fourth out of 22 songs. Both singers were later members of another Eurovision group Heart 2 Heart who represented Iceland in 1992 with the song " Nei eða já". This entry was placed seventh out of 23 in Malmö. Beinteinsdóttir, under the stage name Sigga Sigríður Beinteinsdóttir, better known as Sigga, is an Icelandic singer who competed for her native country in the Eurovision Song Contest three times. Sigríður Beinteinsdóttir, better known as Sigga, is an Icelandic singer who competed for her native country in the Eurovision Song Contest three times. She was born on 24 July 1962 in Reykjavík. She got three 12-point votes overall, two from the United Kingdom and one from Portugal. The Eurovision Song Contest 1990 was the 35th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It was held in Zagreb, SR Croatia, Yugoslavia, following the country's victory at the with the song " Rock Me" by Riva. It was the only time Yugoslavia hosted the contest. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcasters Yugoslav Radio Television (JRT) and Radiotelevision Zagreb (RTZ), the contest was held at Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall on 5 May 1990 and was hosted by Croatian television presenters Helga Vlahović and Oliver Mlakar. It was the first Eurovision Song Contest held in the Balkans as well as the first and only contest held in a communist or socialist state. Iceland was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1994 by Sigga with the song "Nætur". Before Eurovision Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins 1994 The Icelandic broadcaster opted to change the format of the final compared to the previous years, due to the cost of a ten-song final being considered extremely high and being able to put in more effort in the final version of the song. The final was held on 23 February 1994 at the RÚV studios in Reykjavík, hosted by Hermann Gunnarsson. 3 songs competed, with the winner being selected by an "expert" jury, consisting of: Hermanns Gunnarssonar, Á tali and Hemma Gunn.
