Stik
Stik is a British graffiti artist based in London. He is known for painting large stick figures. Overview Stik paints stick figure-like people as street art. He began in London, working in its northeast area of Hackney, especially in Shoreditch, "and now paints murals all over the world in Europe, Asia and America." He liaises at the Central Saint Martins ''Graffiti Dialogues'' and has been funded to run graffiti workshops. He has worked with Amnesty International, British Waterways, the Mutoid Waste Company, Queeruption, and Reclaim the Streets. He paints unauthorised art as well as pieces that are authorised. In 2011, Stik had a solo show at Imitate Modern, a gallery in London's West End. In 2012, he worked in Dulwich, southeast London in collaboration with curator Ingrid Beazley, where he recreated Old Master paintings in his own style that were exhibited in Dulwich Picture Gallery. Dulwich OnView
Dulwich OnView is a museum-based virtual community associated with the Dulwich Picture Gallery for the local community, based in the suburb of Dulwich, southeast London.Who We Are , ''Dulwich OnView''. It runs a blog-based online magazine concerned with people and culture in Dulwich and the surrounding area. The group was formed through the Friends of Dulwich Picture Gallery in a grassroots manner. and is supported by the Gallery. It uses a Facebook group for the film society of the Friends of the Dulwich Picture Gallery, Flickr for photographs taken by the local community, a magazine blog on WordPress, and Twitter to support its activities. Ingrid Beazley
Ingrid Beazley FRSA (17 January 1950 – 21 April 2017) was an art museum curator, author, editor, and educationist, based in Dulwich, south London, England. She was a pioneer in promoting street art. Life and work Beazley was the daughter of a doctor, Ian Marrable, and his wife Kari. She grew up in Dodoma, Tanganyika (now Tanzania), East Africa. The family moved to England when she was 12 and she was educated at Guildford County School. She studied for a BA in Art History and Psychology at the University of St Andrews, then at the University of London, and later for a Cert Ed at a teacher training college in Gloucestershire. Beazley worked at a number of schools in Singapore and the United Kingdom. Later she was based in the education department at Dulwich Picture Gallery, where she promoted the use of technology. Dulwich Outdoor Gallery
Dulwich Outdoor Gallery (DOG) is a collection of street art in south London, with works based on traditional paintings in Dulwich Picture Gallery. The DOG was established by Ingrid Beazley, a pioneer of promoting street art. The Dulwich Street Art Festival was held in 2013 showcasing the artworks. It was a collaboration between the Dulwich Picture Gallery education department and Street Art London. Dulwich Outdoor Gallery consists of a collection of murals painted by international contemporary street artists, based on Baroque paintings in the Dulwich Picture Gallery collection. Imitate Modern
Imitate Modern is a London-based contemporary photography and art gallery that exhibits work by emerging artists. About Imitate Modern was launched in 2011, initially occupying a space in Marylebone, London. In 2015 it became a pop-up gallery, opening in various locations, including 90 Piccadilly and Goodwood Festival of Speed. Thierry Noir
Thierry Noir (born 1958) is a French artist and muralist based in Berlin. He is considered the first artist to paint the Berlin Wall in the 1980s. He created brightly-colored paintings across large spans of the Berlin Wall and some of these original paintings can still be seen on surviving segments of the Wall in art collections and on the East Side Gallery. Noir's work and style are now considered iconic, and Noir is also regarded as one of the forerunners of the street art movement as a whole. MadC
MadC (born Claudia Walde, 1980) is a graffiti writer and muralist. She was born in Bautzen, Germany, and is most known for her large-scale, outdoor artistic paintings. MadC started as a teenage graffiti writer and has since developed her creative endeavors into various related fields (including as graphic design, writing, and fine art). MadC painted her first graffiti piece in 1996, being 16 years old. She studied at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle and Central Saint Martins College in London. Dulwich Picture Gallery
Dulwich Picture Gallery is an art gallery in Dulwich, South London, which opened to the public in 1817. It was designed by Regency architect Sir John Soane using an innovative and influential method of illumination. Dulwich is the oldest public art gallery in England and was made an independent charitable trust in 1994. Conor Harrington
Conor Harrington (born 1980) is an Irish street/graffiti artist based in London, England. Overview Harrington is known for both his street work and also more recently his gallery work. Early life Conor Harrington was born in Cork, Ireland, in 1980. He started his career in his teenage years tagging and doing graffiti in the streets of Ireland. Most of these nights were called hip-hop nights, where he would hang out at clubs in 1990s Ireland. Mear One (born 1971 as Kalen Ockerman) is an American artist based in Los Angeles, known for his often-political street graffiti art. Mear One is associated with CBS (Can't Be Stopped – City Bomb Squad) and WCA (West Coast Artist) crews.
