Imitate Modern
Imitate Modern is a London-based contemporary photography and art gallery that exhibits work by emerging artists. About Imitate Modern was launched in 2011, initially occupying a space in Marylebone, London. In 2015 it became a pop-up gallery, opening in various locations, including 90 Piccadilly and Goodwood Festival of Speed. In 2016 the gallery moved to its new permanent space at 19 Shepherd Market, London. Imitate Modern hosted the first London solo exhibitions for Tyler Shields, Cartrain and Stik. In 2012, the French artist Philippe Shangti presents his exhibition "Saint Tropez to London" whose 28 provocative color images present a visual cocktail of drugs, fetishism, anarchy, sex and death. Marylebone, London
Marylebone (usually , also , ) is a district in the West End of London, in the City of Westminster. Oxford Street, Europe's busiest shopping street, forms its southern boundary. An ancient parish and latterly a metropolitan borough, it merged with the boroughs of Westminster and Paddington to form the new City of Westminster in 1965. Marylebone station lies two miles north-west of Charing Cross. Goodwood Festival Of Speed
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is an annual motorsports festival featuring modern and historic motor racing vehicles taking part in a hillclimbing, hill climb and other events, held in the grounds of Goodwood House, West Sussex, England, in late June or early July; the event is scheduled to avoid clashing with the Formula One season, enabling fans to see F1 machines as well as cars and motorbikes from motor racing history climb the hill. Tyler Shields
Tyler Shields (born April 29, 1982) is an American photographer, screenwriter, director, and former professional inline skater. Shields is known for his provocative photography involving violence and danger. Shields gained additional notoriety in June 2017 for a photo of comedian Kathy Griffin holding a prop that looked like Donald Trump's severed head. Life and career Shields was born in Jacksonville, Florida. Inline skating Shields competed professionally as a vert inline skater. Cartrain (born 1991), often stylised я, is a British artist associated with the graffiti urban art movement. Artist Damien Hirst has threatened to take legal steps against Cartrain over his art and activities. Stik is a British graffiti artist based in London. He is known for painting large stick figures. Overview Stik paints stick figure-like people as street art. He began in London, working in its northeast area of Hackney, especially in Shoreditch, "and now paints murals all over the world in Europe, Asia and America." He liaises at the Central Saint Martins ''Graffiti Dialogues'' and has been funded to run graffiti workshops. Philippe Shangti is a multidisciplinary French contemporary artist. Born in 1983 in Toulouse, he studied in this city then he moved to Saint-Tropez at the beginnings of the 2000s. Rich Simmons is a British pop artist based in London. Overview Simmons' depiction of ''Batman Kissing Superman'' gained notability when it was painted in London and New York City.
