Sticks And Stones (band)
Sticks and Stones are a Scottish folk rock band originating from Dumfries, Scotland. They were founded in May 2012 by Aiden Halliday (Lead Singer, Acoustic Guitar), Peter Wall (Electric Guitar) and Angus Bruce (Keyboard). They played at many smaller venues throughout the region before they released their debut album ''Into the Wild'' under the Distilled Records independent label on 4 October 2014. History Background In early 2012, Aiden "Needs A" Halliday (Lead Singer, Acoustic Guitar), Peter "The Slayer" Wall (Electric Guitar), and Angus Bruce (Keyboard) formed Sticks and Stones whilst studying at Wallace Hall. Dumfries
Dumfries ( ; sco, Dumfries; from gd, Dùn Phris ) is a market town and former royal burgh within the Dumfries and Galloway council area of Scotland. It is located near the mouth of the River Nith into the Solway Firth about by road from the Anglo-Scottish border and just away from Cumbria by air. Dumfries is the county town of the historic county of Dumfriesshire. Before becoming King of Scots, Robert the Bruce killed his rival the Red Comyn at Greyfriars Kirk in the town on 10 February 1306. Wallace Hall is a 2-18, state-operated comprehensive school in Thornhill, Dumfries and Galloway, south-west Scotland. The school serves all school-aged children in the local area, with three distinct schooling types operating under one building. These are; The ELC (Early Learning Centre or Nursery), Primary School, and Academy. Drumlanrig Castle
Drumlanrig Castle is situated on the Queensberry Estate in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. The category A listed castle is the Dumfriesshire home of the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch and Queensberry. It is open to the public at set times. Construction The 'Pink Palace' of Drumlanrig, constructed between 1679 and 1689 from distinctive pink sandstone, is an example of late 17th-century Renaissance architecture. The first Duke of Queensberry, William Douglas, had the castle built on the site of an ancient Douglas stronghold overlooking the Nith Valley. The castle has 120 rooms, 17 turrets and four towers. In 1984, aerial photography revealed the outline of a substantial Roman fort some 350 yards to the southeast of Drumlanrig Castle.
