Steven Geller
Steven Anthony Geller (born November 4, 1958) is an American attorney and politician who serves on the Broward County Commission for District 5. As of November 2020, Geller was the mayor of Broward County from November 2020 till November 2021. He was the former vice mayor from November 2019 till November 2020. Early life and education Geller was born in The Bronx and moved to Florida with his family in 1969. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history in 1979 and a Juris Doctor in 1982, both from Florida State University. Career Law Geller is an actively practicing attorney. He was a shareholder at the national law firm of Greenspoon Marder, and is the principal of Geller Law Firm, P.A., where he practices in the areas of zoning and land use, gaming law, lobbying and administrative law, first party property insurance law, and commercial litigation. In many countries, a mayor is the highest-ranking official in a municipal government such as that of a city or a town. Holocaust Documentation & Education Center
The Holocaust Documentation & Education Center, located at 303 N. Federal Highway, Dania Beach, Florida, was founded in 1980. The Center is raising funds to build the first South Florida Holocaust Museum, which will – uniquely for a museum of this type – serve both the Spanish- and the English-speaking public. After vacating its previous location, a three-story building at 2031 Harrison Street in Hollywood, Florida, it moved into its current location, a 25,000-square-foot facility, on September 28, 2016. Oral history The Center has conducted, for its Oral History collection, more than 2,500 interviews with Holocaust witnesses, and continues to conduct interviews. The interviews, recorded on video, are transcribed verbatim onto acid-free paper; the Center claims on its Web site that this is the only known collection with transcripts of each interview.
