Steve Young (writer)
Steve Young was a television writer for ''Late Show with David Letterman'' and ''Late Night with David Letterman''. He is a Harvard University graduate and former writer for the Harvard Lampoon. He also wrote ''The Simpsons'' season eight episode "Hurricane Neddy". Young adapted the holiday book ''Olive, the Other Reindeer'' for the animated holiday special. He won an Annie Award in 2000 for his screenplay. Young's other television writing credits include ''Not Necessarily the News''. Young is the co-author, along with Mike "Sport: Murphy, o''Everything's Coming Up Profits – The Golden Age of Industrial Musicals'' an illustrated history of musicals written for company conventions and sales meetings, told through the rare souvenir record albums. The ''Late Show with David Letterman'' is an American late-night talk show hosted by David Letterman on CBS, the first iteration of the The Late Show (franchise), ''Late Show'' franchise. The show debuted on August 30, 1993, and was produced by Letterman's production company, Worldwide Pants, Worldwide Pants Incorporated, and CBS Studios, CBS Television Studios. The show's music director and leader of the house band, the CBS Orchestra, was Paul Shaffer. The head writer was Matt Roberts and the announcer was originally Bill Wendell, then Alan Kalter. Eric Stangel
Eric Stangel (born June 16, 1971) is an American radio and television showrunner, writer and producer. Biography Born and raised in Chappaqua, New York, Stangel attended Syracuse University, where he graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism in 1993. Upon graduation, Stangel and his brother Justin Stangel created a stage show in Manhattan, titled ''Big City Comedy.'' The success of the show led to writing work for Norm Macdonald's Weekend Update on ''Saturday Night Live'', the cartoon show ''The Tick'' on Fox Television, and the USA Network. The comedy shorts they created to air between shows for the USA Network helped land the Stangel brothers staff writing jobs with ''Late Show with David Letterman'', in 1997. ''Late Night with David Letterman'' is an American late-night talk show hosted by David Letterman on NBC, the first iteration of the ''Late Night'' franchise. It premiered on February 1, 1982, and was produced by Letterman's production company, Worldwide Pants Incorporated, and Carson Productions. Letterman had previously hosted his own morning talk show on NBC from June to October 1980. The show's house band, The World's Most Dangerous Band, was led by music director Paul Shaffer.
