Steve Wied
Stephen Frederick Wiederhold (born May 18, 1964), known as Steve Wied, is an American musician who was the original drummer for Seattle, Washington-based grunge bands Tad and Willard. Wied had played in bands Skin Yard and Death and Taxes, before being recruited by Tad Doyle in 1988 to form the band Tad. With Wied, Tad released God's Balls, Salt Lick, and 8-Way Santa, as well as touring Europe with fellow Seattle band Nirvana on the "Heavier Than Heaven" tour. While in Tad, Wied and Pete Litwin of Coffin Break started an "anti-Mother Love Bone" band called Daddy Hate Box, in response to Mother Love Bone getting a good record deal. They released an EP called "Sugar Plow", produced by Wied's Skin Yard bandmate and Tad producer Jack Endino, and they broke up shortly after its release. Willard (band)
Willard was an American rock band from Seattle, Washington, formed around 1989. Though they sought to challenge the grunge image of Seattle, they are acknowledged as a part of the grunge music scene of the late 1980s and early 1990s. History Jeff Gilbert and Tad Doyle were instrumental in Willard's record deal, which resulted in the Endino-produced ''Steel Mill'' in 1992. Gilbert called Willard the "drunkest band in Seattle" in his ''Rocket'' article. They had previously released a self-titled four song EP on Jerry O'Neill's a.k.a. Jack Endino
Jack Endino (born Michael M. Giacondino; 1964) is an American producer and musician based in Seattle, Washington. Long associated with Seattle label Sub Pop and the grunge movement, Endino worked on seminal albums from bands including Mudhoney, Soundgarden and Nirvana. He was also the guitarist for Seattle band Skin Yard, which was active between 1985 and 1992. Endino currently manages a studio in Seattle called Soundhouse Recording. Early career In 1985, Endino and Daniel House started the influential grunge band Skin Yard. Though originally a drummer, Endino played guitar and Matt Cameron played drums until he left for Soundgarden. In 1986, Skin Yard contributed two songs to C/Z Records' legendary grunge compilation '' Deep Six''. Mother Love Bone
Mother Love Bone was an American rock band that formed in Seattle, Washington in 1988. The band was active from 1988 to 1990. Frontman Andrew Wood's personality and lyrics helped to catapult the group to the top of the burgeoning late 1980s/early 1990s Seattle music scene. Wood died only days before the scheduled release of the band's debut album, ''Apple'', thus ending the group's hopes of success. The album was finally released a few months later. As well as being influential to grunge, they are also considered early pioneers in the alternative metal genre. Coffin Break
Coffin Break was a hardcore punk band from Seattle, Washington. History Coffin Break was formed in Seattle in the late-1980s, at the start of the grunge era. The group released its first two full-length albums and a compilation on C/Z Records. Signing to Epitaph Records, they released two further albums in 1991 and 1992 before disbanding in late 1993. Both bassist Rob Skinner and guitarist Peter Litwin wrote songs for the group, and the group's releases show a marked difference between their songwriting styles. Nirvana (band)

''8-Way Santa'' is the second album by the Seattle grunge band Tad. It was released on February 15, 1991, through Sub Pop. Tad ran into legal trouble after the man and woman featured on the album cover saw the record and sued the band. The cover was an altered photo, the original of which was found in a photo album purchased from a thrift store. ''Rolling Stone'' ranked this album 31st on their list of the 50 Greatest Grunge Albums. Singles "Jinx" and "Jack Pepsi" were the singles released from this album. Pepsi filed a lawsuit against the band for using their logo on the single "Jack Pepsi". The song itself was, in the words of music journalist Roy Wilkinson, "the true story of how Tad and his mate tanked up on Jack Daniels and cola before taking a pick-up onto an ice-covered lake — tempting fate... and sure enough, they crashed through".
