Steve Nelson (songwriter)
Steve Edward Nelson (November 24, 1907 – November 13, 1981) was an American songwriter. Born in New York City, Nelson worked for Tin Pan Alley starting there in 1929. He later wrote country songs for artists such as Eddy Arnold and Guy Lombardo. In 1950, probably his best known composition, "Frosty the Snowman" was released, co-written with Jack Rollins. Steven Lee Nelson (born April 26, 1951) is an American former professional football player and high school coach. He played as a linebacker for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL) from 1974 to 1987. He served as the head coach at Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts from 1998 to 2005, compiling a record of 64–22. Nelson was a three-sport athlete at Anoka High School, in Anoka, Minnesota, earning letters in football, basketball and baseball. As a senior, Nelson was selected as captain, team MVP and to the all-state team in football. Nelson went on to college at North Dakota State University and graduated in 1974 after being named a two-time All-American, team captain and MVP in football. He was selected by the Patriots in the second round of the 1974 NFL Draft. Stephen Nelson (born March 8, 1989) is an American television personality and play-by-play commentator who works for MLB Network and NHL Network. Early life and education Nelson grew up in Southern California and attended Marina High School in Huntington Beach, California. He went on to attend Chapman University, where he majored in broadcast journalism. Nelson was the sports director for Chapman Radio, where he served as the lead play-by-play broadcaster for school sports games. He is best known as "The Cello Guy" of the classical new-age musical group The Piano Guys, with whom he has released eight number-one albums and dozens of music videos.
