Steve Gillespie (wrestler)
Steven Gillespie (July 22, 1963 – January 18, 2020) was a Canadian professional wrestler. He is best known for his appearances in Japan with Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling in the early-1990s under the ring name Dr. Hannibal. Professional wrestling career Early career (1987–1992) Born and raised in Calgary, Steve Gillespie trained under former NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion Les Thornton. He made his debut for the Edmonton, Alberta-based North American Wrestling Association (NAWA) in 1987. He would spend the next two years cutting his teeth in Western Canada's independent circuit, which also included the Winnipeg, Manitoba-based West Four Wrestling Alliance (WFWA). In August 1989, he joined Stampede Wrestling in Calgary, but the promotion closed down four months later. After Stampede's closure, he joined the Canadian National Wrestling Alliance (CNWA) in 1990. Hart Legacy Wrestling (HLW) is a Canadian professional wrestling promotion operated by some members of the Hart wrestling family, it was founded mainly by Teddy Hart and his associates. Smith Hart was also involved with the promotion prior to his death on July 2, 2017. His long-time partner Stacey Angel is the current owner of the promotion. Bret Hart has no involvement in HLW. History Shows The promotion was announced in 2012, founded and had their first show in the Victoria Pavilion in 2013. In 2013 HLW held a show at the Stampede Pavilion named "Resurrection". Edward Ellsworth Annis (born February 2, 1980) is a Canadian-American professional wrestler, better known by his ring name Teddy Hart. He currently wrestles on the independent circuit. He wrestled on a National scale for Major League Wrestling (MLW) as the leader of The Hart Foundation, where he held the MLW World Middleweight and MLW Tag Team championships. Bruce Edward Hart (born January 13, 1950) is an American born-Canadian retired professional wrestler, promoter, booker, trainer and school teacher. He is a second-generation wrestler and a member of the Hart wrestling family, being the second child of Stu and Helen Hart. He is best known for his time in Stampede Wrestling and several appearances for WWE, often with his brothers Bret and Owen. Karl Moffat (born July 31, 1959), better known by the ring name Jason the Terrible, is a Canadian professional wrestler. He is best known for his appearances with Stampede Wrestling and in Japan. Atsushi Onita
is a Japanese actor, politician, and semi-retired professional wrestler. He is best known for his work in Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling (FMW) and is credited with introducing Japan to the deathmatch style of professional wrestling. He founded FMW in 1989 to defeat Masashi Aoyagi under his own rules and made it a full-fledged organization after his deathmatch style became popular with the Japanese fans. He was the company's top superstar, wrestling at sold out events with large crowds, making it a hugely successful company and earning a lot of money.
