Steve England
Steve England is a radio producer and former radio disc-jockey, and formerly ran a jingle production company in Leek, Staffordshire, which was established in 1997 and has since moved to Sale, Cheshire. He has been called a "guru of radio advertising" Biography England was a disc-jockey on the offshore pirate radio stations Radio Caroline, Radio Mi Amigo and Radio Atlantis, and one of the first independent local radio stations in the UK, Piccadilly Radio in Manchester. After spending time as head of commercial production, England started a partnership with Alan Fawkes and set up Alfasound in 1979. The company produced many jingle packages for UK and European radio stations from its base in Sale, Greater Manchester; one such package was for the Italian radio station, Radio Nova International. Disc-jockey
A disc jockey, more commonly abbreviated as DJ, is a person who plays recorded music for an audience. Types of DJs include radio DJs (who host programs on music radio stations), club DJs (who work at a nightclub or music festival), mobile DJs (who are hired to work at public and private events such as weddings, parties, or festivals), and turntablists (who use record players, usually turntables, to manipulate sounds on phonograph records). Originally, the "disc" in "disc jockey" referred to shellac and later vinyl records, but nowadays DJ is used as an all-encompassing term to also describe persons who mix music from other recording media such as cassettes, CDs or digital audio files on a CDJ, controller, or even a laptop. Moorlands Radio
Moorlands Radio is a community radio station based in Leek in the Staffordshire Moorlands, England. It was granted the full-time licence in the second round of community radio licensing by broadcast regulator Ofcom in February 2008. The station serves the rural Staffordshire Moorlands, covering the main towns of Leek and Biddulph. It is funded through a combination of grant funding from local authorities and charities and revenue from the sale of advertising to local businesses. All presenters and staff at the station are volunteers. History The Moorlands Radio project was founded by a group of local enthusiasts in 2003, led by established presenter Tony Mullins. From 2003 to 2006, the station undertook three Restricted Service Licence broadcasts of 28 days each in duration. Butlins
Butlin's is a chain of large seaside resorts in the United Kingdom. Butlin's was founded by Billy Butlin to provide affordable holidays for ordinary British families. Between 1936 and 1966, ten camps were built, including one in Ireland and one in the Bahamas. Netto () is a Danish discount supermarket operating in Denmark, Germany, Poland, and previously in Sweden and the United Kingdom both as a stand-alone venture, until its sale in May 2010 to Asda, and via a joint venture with Sainsbury's between June 2014 and July 2016. DFS (DFS Furniture plc, stylised as dfs, is a furniture retailer in the United Kingdom, Spain and Ireland specialising in sofas and soft furnishings. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange. History Northern Upholstery In 1969, aged 22, Graham Kirkham was married with two children, which he describes as great motivation.
