Stephen Slesnick
Stephen Slesnick (born December 3, 1977) is a former member of the Ohio House of Representatives who represented the 49th District from 2008 to 2016. A Democrat, Slesnick represented portions of Stark County, including Canton and Massillon. Life and career A lifelong resident of Canton, Ohio, after graduating from Ohio State University. He also has worked for Morgan Stanley and Octagon. Ohio House of Representatives When William J. Healy II resigned from the Ohio House to become Mayor of Canton, nine people, including Slesnick, sought appointment to the seat. However, House Democrats decided to wait for the results of the 2008 primary, where Slesnick was up against four others for the Democratic nomination. He won the nomination with 29.02% of the electorate, and completed the remainder of Healy's term. In his campaign for his first full term, Slesnick faced Republican Richard Hart. Armond D. Budish ( ; b. Cleveland, Ohio, United States, 1953) is an American politician currently serving in his second term as Cuyahoga County Executive. A member of the Democratic Party, he was a four-term Ohio State Representative (8th district), and served as Speaker of the House from 2009 to 2011. Thomas E. West (born October 12, 1964) is an American businessman and politician who served as the State Representative for the 49th District of the Ohio House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. The Ohio House of Representatives is the lower house of the Ohio General Assembly, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Ohio; the other house of the bicameral legislature being the Ohio Senate. The House of Representatives first met in Chillicothe on March 3, 1803, under the later superseded state constitution of that year.
