Stephen Omony
Stephen Omony (born 3 November 1981) though some sources mention March 23, 1980, is an Ugandan professional basketball player. He currently plays for the City Oilers of Uganda’s National Basketball League (NBL). Born in the Namuwongo neighbourhood in Kampala, Omony has played for several teams in the Ugandan top level. In 2017, he signed with the City Oilers for four years. Small Forward
The small forward (SF), also known as the three or swingman, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. Small forwards are typically shorter, quicker, and leaner than power forwards and centers but taller, larger, and stronger than either of the guard positions. The ''Daily Monitor'' is a Ugandan independent daily newspaper. Its name is shared by the ''Saturday Monitor'' and ''Sunday Monitor'', which are also published by Monitor Publications Limited. The Uganda national basketball team represents Uganda in international basketball competitions. It is administrated by the Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA). City Oilers
City Oilers is a basketball club based in Lugogo, Kampala, Uganda. The team competes in the Ugandan National Basketball League (NBL), where it has won eight championships, the most in league history. The Oilers play in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) in the 2023 season. History The club was founded by a group of friends who decided to play basketball together. They started playing pick-up games at courts in Kampala, with former national league players joining. Later, Justus Mugisha became head coach and suggested the team joined a basketball league.
