Stephen Chebrot
Stephen Chemoiko Chebrot is a Ugandan physician and politician. He is the current State Minister for Transport in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 27 May 2011. He replaced Simon Ejua, who was dropped from the Cabinet. In the cabinet reshuffle of 1 March 2015, he retained his cabinet portfolio. Stephen Chebrot also serves as the elected Member of Parliament for "Tingey County", in Kapchorwa District. Background and education He was born in Kapchorwa District on 27 July 1951. He holds the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, obtained in 1979, and that of Master of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynecology, obtained in 1986, from the University of Nairobi. Master of Medicine (MMed) is a postgraduate professional clinical degree awarded by medical schools to physicians following a period of instruction, supervised clinical rotations, and examination. The degree usually takes three years to complete, but may take up to four years in some countries.
