Stepan Zotov
Stepan Andeeevich Zotov (November 23, 1882 – September 29, 1938) was a Soviet komkor (corps commander). He fought in the Russian Imperial Army in World War I before going over to the Bolsheviks in the subsequent civil war. He was a recipient of the Cross of St. George, the Order of the Red Banner and the Order of the Red Star The Order of the Red Star (russian: Орден Красной Звезды, Orden Krasnoy Zvezdy) was a military decoration of the Soviet Union. A military hospital is a hospital owned and operated by a military. They are often reserved for the use of military personnel and their dependents, but in some countries are made available to civilians as well. The Order of the Red Banner (russian: Орден Красного Знамени, Orden Krasnogo Znameni) was the first Soviet military decoration. The Order was established on 16 September 1918, during the Russian Civil War by decree of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee. It was the highest award of Soviet Russia, subsequently the Soviet Union, until the Order of Lenin was established in 1930.
