Steffen Kværneland
Steffen Kverneland (born 14 January 1963) is a Norwegian illustrator and comics writer. He was born in Haugesund, and settled in Oslo from 1987. He has specialized on creating comics series based on classical literature. Among his early albums are ''De knyttede never'' from 1993 based on a novel by Øvre Richter Frich, and four volumes of '' Amputerte klassikere''. He was awarded the Brage Prize for non-fiction in 2013, for the biography ''Munch'', a collection of his albums based on the life of painter Edvard Munch. ''Munch'' has been translated into several languages, including French, Dutch, German, Polish, Danish and Korean, supported by Norla, the foundation for Norwegian Literature Abroad. Early publications Kverneland published the comics strip ''Peer Grynt'' in the magazine ''Konk'' in 1980, when he was sixteen years old. While the population is greater in the neighboring Karmøy municipality, the main commercial and economic centre of the Haugaland region in northern Rogaland and southern Vestland is in Haugesund. Marte Michelet
Marte Brekke Michelet (born 26 May 1975) is a Norwegian journalist, critic and non-fiction writer. She is the daughter of novelist and politician Jon Michelet and Toril Brekke. They resided in Lindeberg, Oslo before her parents split up. Marte Michelet moved into an apartment in Oslo, that once had housed a young Jewish girl who was deported to Auschwitz. She started her career in RadiOrakel and as a journalist in NRK. In 2006 she was hired in ''Dagbladet'', where she rose to political commentator. She was also at one point the restaurant critic ''Robinson & Fredag''. She resigned in 2014 when moving with her former husband Ali Esbati to Sweden; he was elected as a member of Parliament there. In 2014 she released the book ''Den største forbrytelsen'' about the Holocaust in Norway, receiving rave reviews and promptly winning the Brage Prize. Kurt Hermann Eduard Karl Julius Schwitters (20 June 1887 – 8 January 1948) was a German artist who was born in Hanover, Germany. Schwitters worked in several genres and media, including dadaism, constructivism, surrealism, poetry, sound, painting, sculpture, graphic design, typography, and what came to be known as installation art. Olaf Leonhard Gulbransson (26 May 1873 in Oslo18 September 1958 in Tegernsee, West Germany) was a Norwegian artist, painter and designer. He is probably best known for his caricatures and illustrations. Biography From 1885-93, he trained at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry in Christiania (now Oslo), Norway. From 1890, he worked for many Norwegian magazines, including ''Tyrihans'', '' Pluk'', '' Paletten'', '' Fluesoppen'', ''Sfinx'' and '' Trangviksposten ''(1899–1901). In 1900 he studied at the Académie Colarossi in Paris. Lars Fiske (born 21 July 1966) is a Norwegian comics writer and artist, and creator of picture books. He was born in Oslo and is married to illustrator and writer Anna Fiske. Fiske created the album ''Matje: debutanten'' in 1996, and the follow-up ''Matje-ismen'' in 2000. His album ''Olaf G.'' from 2004, which he created in cooperation with Steffen Kverneland, earned them the Sproing Award, and the album was translated into Swedish and German language.
