Steffen Bockhahn
Steffen Bockhahn (29 December 1978 in Rostock) is a German politician. He is the Senator for Social Affairs, Youth, Health and Schools of the Hanseatic City of Rostock. From 24 October 2009 to 5 November 2012 he was the state chairman of the Left Party in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and from 2009 to 2013 he was a member of the 17th German Bundestag, where he was elected as a direct candidate. Early life and education Bockhahn spent his childhood in Rostock. Until he started school, he lived with his parents and older sister in the Reutershagen district before the family moved to a new development in the city center. From 1985 to 1991, he attended the 9th POS Clara Zetkin, which regained its old name "''Große Stadtschule''" during the reunification period. Bundestag
The Bundestag (, "Federal Diet") is the German federal parliament. It is the only federal representative body that is directly elected by the German people. It is comparable to the United States House of Representatives or the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. Eckhardt Rehberg
Eckhardt Rehberg (born 3 April 1954) is a German politician of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) who served as a member of the Bundestag from the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern from 2005 until 2021. Political career From 1990 until 2005, Rehberg served as a member of the State Parliament of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. From 2001 until 2005, he was the chairman of the CDU in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. During that time, he was the party's candidate to unseat incumbent Minister-President Harald Ringstorff in the 2002 Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state election; he eventually lost against Ringstorff. The Parliamentary Oversight Panel (PKGr) is a committee of the German Bundestag responsible for oversight of the intelligence agencies of Germany. The PKGr monitors the Federal Intelligence Service (BND; german: Bundesnachrichtendienst), the Military Counterintelligence Service (MAD; german: Militärischer Abschirmdienst), and the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV; german: Bundesverfassungsschutz). Claus Ruhe Madsen (born 27 August 1972) is a Danish and German entrepreneur who is active as an independent politician in Germany. 2013 German Federal Election
Federal elections were held on 22 September to elect the members of the 18th Bundestag of Germany. At stake were all 598 seats to the Bundestag, plus 33 overhang seats determined thereafter. The Christian Democratic Union of Germany/ Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CDU/CSU) of incumbent chancellor Angela Merkel won their best result since 1990 with nearly 42% of the vote and nearly 50% of the seats, just five short for an overall majority. The Free Democratic Party (FDP) failed to meet the 5% vote electoral threshold in what was their worst showing ever in a federal election, denying them seats in the Bundestag for the first time in their history.
