Stefan Shundi
Stefan Shundi (1906–1947) was an Albanians, Albanian writer, literary critic, journalist, lawyer, football player, and sports director. During 1933 to 1936 he was president of the KF Tirana football association. Life Stefan Shundi was born in 1906 in Tirana (then part of the Ottoman Empire, now the capital of Albania). He pursued his secondary studies in Austria and then in Italy, where he graduated in law at the University of Milan. In 1929, Shundi was selected from the Albanian government of Zog I of Albania, Zog I, along with other Albanian students, to participate, in an official ceremony to honor Lodewijk Thomson in the Netherlands. Thomson had been a Dutch military who died in Albania in 1914, while commanding the International Control Commission (Albania), as a unit of protection of a newly created Albania. Tirana
Tirana ( , ; aln, Tirona) is the capital and largest city of Albania. It is located in the centre of the country, enclosed by mountains and hills with Dajti rising to the east and a slight valley to the northwest overlooking the Adriatic Sea in the distance. Gjergj Fishta
Gjergj Fishta (; 23 October 187130 December 1940) was an Albanian Franciscan friar, poet, educator, politician, rilindas, translator and writer. He is regarded as one of the most influential Albanian writers of the 20th century due to his epic masterpiece '' Lahuta e Malcís'' and the editor of two of the most authoritative magazines after Albania's independence, ''Posta e Shypniës'' and ''Hylli i Dritës''. Notably being the chairman of the commission of the Congress of Manastir, which sanctioned the Albanian alphabet, he was part of the Albanian delegation to the Versailles Conference, 1919. In 1921 he was a member and became the deputy chairman of the Albanian parliament, later on in the '20s and the '30s he was among the most influential cultural and literary figures in Albania. Aleksandër Merxhani mostly known as Branko Merxhani (1894–1981) was an Albanian intellectual, sociologist, writer, journalist and literary critic. He was one of the most important cultural figures of the pre-World War II in Albania, publisher of ''Përpjekja shqiptare''. During the '30s he developed an ideological program named ''Neo-Albanianism'' ( sq, Neo-shqiptarisma), which he developed being heavily influenced by Turkish sociologist Ziya Gökalp. Ernest Koliqi (20 May 190315 January 1975) was an Albanian journalist, politician, translator, teacher and writer. Biography Born in Shkodra, where he also attended his first lessons at the local Jesuit College. In 1918 his father send him to study in the jesuit directed "Cesare Arici" college, in Brescia; and afterwards in Bergamo. Then at the University of Padua, and became knowledgeable in Albanian folk history. He began to write under pseudonyms, such as Hilushi, Hilush Vilza and Borizani. In the 1920s and 1930s Koliqi was the founder of leading magazines in Albania, such as the ''Illyria'' magazine, and others, which covered geography and culture in the country. He also was Minister of Education at the time of the Albanian Kingdom during World War II, when he sent two hundred teachers to establish Albanian schools in Kosovo.
