Stefan Cichy (Bishop)
Bishop Stefan Cichy is a Roman Catholic bishop emeritus of Legnica in Poland. He was born on 30 March 1939 in Przyszowice, Poland and was a survivor of the Przyszowice massacre. He was ordained a priest on 23 June 1963 and on 12 September 1998 was consecrated Bishop. From 26 August 1998 until 19 March 2005 he was Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Katowice and Titular Bishop of Bonusta in Tunisia. He was Bishop of Legnica from 19 March 2005 until 16 April 2014. In 2013, a water-filled vessel appearing with a red discoloration; this followed a Christmas Day Mass at the Sanctuary of St. Hyacinth where a host fell during the distribution of communion. The priest involved during said Mass reported it to Bishop Cichy, who in 2014 sent a particle of the host to research labs in Wrocław and Szczecin. Zbigniew Kiernikowski (born 2 July 1946 in Szamarzewo) is a Polish prelate of the Catholic Church who was bishop of Legnica from 2014 to 2021 and of Siedlice from 2002 to 2014. Biography Kiernikowski was ordained to the priesthood on 6 June 1971. Tadeusz Rybak
Tadeusz Rybak (October 7, 1929 – March 7, 2017) was a Polish Roman Catholic bishop. He served as the first Bishop of the Diocese of Legnica between 1992 and 2002; he was also titular bishop of Benepota between 1977 and 1992. Ordained to the priesthood in 1953, Rybak served as auxiliary bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Wrocław from 1977 to 1992; he then served as bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Legnica from 1992 to 2002. He was also titular bishop of the diocese of Benepota, having been appointed on 28 April 1977. A titular bishop in various churches is a bishop who is not in charge of a diocese.
