Stay Forever (Platin Song)
Slovenia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with the song "Stay Forever" written by Diana Lečnik and Simon Gomilšek. The song was performed by the duo Platin, which consists of Lečnik and Gomilšek. Slovenian broadcaster Radiotelevizija Slovenija (RTV Slovenija) organised the national final ''EMA 2004'' in order to select the Slovenian entry for the 2004 contest in Istanbul, Turkey. 32 entries competed in the national final which consisted of five shows: four semi-finals and a final. Entries were selected to advance from the semi-finals based on a public televote and a four-member jury panel. Sixteen entries qualified to compete in the final where the winner was selected over two rounds of voting. In the first round, the top three entries were selected following the combination of votes from a five-member jury panel and a public televote. Feri Lainšček
Feri Lainšček (born 5 October 1959) is a Slovenian writer, poet, and screenwriter. Early life He was born Franc Lainšček in a Slovene Lutheran family in the village of Dolenci (part of Šalovci), in northeastern Slovenia, then part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. He studied journalism at the University of Ljubljana. In the 1980s, he worked as a speaker at Radio Ljubljana. Since the 1990s, he has been living and working in the town of Murska Sobota in his native Prekmurje region. Work In 1999, he wrote a novel, which is a story of the screenplay for the film '' Rooster's Breakfast'', the most successful Slovenian film to date. Trkaj (born Rok Terkaj, March 1, 1983) is a rapper from Slovenia and a student of theology. He won the Slovenian Freestyle Championship back in 2003 along with fellow rapper N'toko. Anja Rupel
Anja Rupel (born 19 March 1966) is a Slovene pop singer, songwriter, radio announcer, and journalist. Her father, Fedja Rupel, is a flautist and a professor at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, and her uncle is the politician and diplomat Dimitrij Rupel. Rupel has been involved in music since childhood. She played the flute for over ten years. In 1982, she began to perform as lead vocalist with the prominent synthpop group Videosex, which became very popular in the former Yugoslavia. The group recorded four albums. Their debut album, ''Videosex 84'' appeared in 1983 and they played with bands such as Ekatarina Velika and Otroci Socializma in Belgrade. The group broke up in 1992. Maraaya are a Slovenian duo founded by Marjetka Vovk and Aleš Vovk (Raay) in 2014. The group's name is a combination of its members' names, while its pronunciation means "She has Raay" in Slovene. Ana Soklič (born 10 April 1984) is a Slovenian singer. She represented Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song "Amen", placing 13th in the first semi-final with 44 points. Career In 2012, Soklič participated in the first season of Slovenian version of X Factor, where she finished in 5th place. On 20 December 2019, Soklič was announced as one of the twelve participants in EMA 2020, the national contest in Slovenia to select the country's Eurovision Song Contest 2020 entry, with the song " Voda". Milan Dekleva (born 17 October 1946) is a Slovene poet, writer, playwright, composer and journalist. Dekleva was born in Ljubljana in 1946. He graduated in comparative literature from the University of Ljubljana and works as a journalist. He is best known for his poetry and has published over twenty peorty collections, a number of novels and collections of short stories. He was the first poet to publish haiku in Slovene (''Mushi mushi'', 1971). Many of his poems deal with the modern human condition in the absence of God.
