Stateline is a census-designated place (CDP) on the southeastern shore of Lake Tahoe in Douglas County, Nevada, United States. It lies next to the California state line and City of South Lake Tahoe. The population was 842 at the 2010 census. The population swells considerably during the busy winter and summer seasons, due to the high number of hotel rooms and rental accommodations available. Attractions Stateline is home to four casino resorts: Bally's Lake Tahoe (formerly Caesars and MontBleu), Harrah's Lake Tahoe, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe (formerly Horizon), and Harveys Lake Tahoe. Until its closure on April 14, 2020, the Lakeside Inn catered to locals and modest gamblers. Many of the hotels in the neighboring city of South Lake Tahoe, California, organize buses to take residents to the casinos in Stateline. Heavenly Ski Resort
Heavenly Mountain Resort is a ski resort located on the California–Nevada border in South Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Harvey's Resort Hotel Bombing
The Harvey's Resort Hotel bombing took place on August 26–27, 1980, when several men masquerading as photocopier deliverers planted an elaborately booby trapped bomb containing of dynamite at Harvey's Resort Hotel (now "Harveys") in Stateline, Nevada, United States. After an attempt to disarm the bomb, it exploded, causing extensive damage to the hotel but no injuries or deaths. The total cost of the damage was estimated to be around $18 million. John Birges Sr. was convicted of having made the bomb with a goal of extorting money from the casino after having lost $750,000 there. He died in prison in 1996, at the age of 74. Snow chains, or tire chains, are devices fitted to the tires of vehicles to provide increased traction when driving through snow and ice. Snow chains attach to the drive wheels of a vehicle or special systems deploy chains which swing under the tires automatically. Kingsbury Grade
State Route 207 (SR 207) is a state highway in western Douglas County, Nevada, United States. Commonly known as the Kingsbury Grade, it is one of three Nevada highways that connect the western edge of the state to the Lake Tahoe region through the Carson Range. The route was part of State Route 19 prior to 1976. Route description SR 207 begins at a junction with U.S. Route 50 in Stateline, less than from the California state line near the southern shores of Lake Tahoe. From there, the route heads eastward on an uphill climb through the Kingsbury area to travel through Daggett Pass (elevation ). Edgewood Tahoe Resort
The Edgewood Tahoe Resort is a golf resort in the western United States, on the south shore of Lake Tahoe in Stateline, Nevada. The venue has hosted the 1985 U.S. Senior Open and the annual American Century Championship since 1990. The site where Edgewood now stands was previously part of a ranch adjacent to Friday's Station, the historic 19th Century Pony Express station and inn. The Park family bought the ranch in 1896 to raise cattle, and in the 1960s they decided to build a golf course on their property. The golf course was originally designed by George Fazio and opened in 1968. George's nephew Tom Fazio has since renovated the now course from time to time. Lakeside Inn (formerly Tahoe Sky Harbor, Fabulous Eddie's Stardust Club, Caesars Inn and Harvey's Inn) was a hotel and casino located in Stateline, Nevada. It had 123 rooms, as well as two restaurants, three bars and a casino with of space.
