Stary Olsa
Stary Olsa ( be, Стары Ольса) is a Belarusian medieval folk band, that plays medieval Ruthenian music of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The band has also released classical rock cover works in their Medieval Classic Rock where classical rock songs performed by bagpipes. Stary Olsa is one of the few Belarusian bands enjoying popularity outside Belarus. The band has received numerous positive critical reviews. They are also known for covering modern rock tracks using their medieval instruments, and released a cover album, via a Kickstarter campaign, in 2016. The band was founded in 1999 by Źmicier Sasnoŭski. The name Stary Olsa means "Old Olsa", where Olsa is a left tributary of Berezina in Mogilev Oblast, Belarus. Medieval Classic Rock
''Medieval Classic Rock'' is the thirteenth studio album of the Belarusian band Stary Olsa playing medieval folk. The album contains cover versions of rock hits of the second half of the 20th century played on medieval instruments. The album was released on August 15, 2016 through the American label Cool Hat Records. It was created under the influence of YouTube users’ feedback who admitted that the band's cover version video of "One" by Metallica was a success. The band Stary Olsa plays Eastern European medieval songs, mostly of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania time. This is the only album of the band where they perform songs of the 20th century. Background The leader of Stary Olsa band, Zmicier Sasnoŭski, said in one of his interviews that modern music and music of the Middle Ages are surprisingly good combined. Vir (Stary Olsa Album)
Vir (; it, Puntadura, Dalmatian: ''Punta de Ura'') is an island on the Croatian coast of the Adriatic Sea with an area of 22 km2. It lies in Dalmatia, north of the city of Zadar. It is connected to the mainland via a road bridge. The main village on the island is the eponymous village of Vir. There are two more villages, Lozice and Torovi. Mogilev Region or Mogilev Oblast or Mahiliow Voblasts ( be, link=no, Магілёўская вобласць; ''Mahiloŭskaja voblasć''; russian: link=no, Могилёвская область; ''Mogilyovskaya Oblast''), is a region (''oblast'') of Belarus with its administrative center at Mogilev (Mahilyow).
