Starship Troopers (OVA)
is a six-part anime OVA produced by Sunrise and released in 1988. It is based on the 1959 book ''Starship Troopers'' by Robert A. Heinlein. The OVA was dedicated to Heinlein, who died before the first part of the series was released. Kazutaka Miyatake
is a visual artist and anime designer known for the mechanical design of the ''Macross'' TV series and a number of its continuations from Studio Nue, of which he is a founding member. He has also contributed to the mecha design of other series such as ''Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny''. Mechanical Design Kazutaka Miyatake has designed the spaceships of several famous anime series. His attention to detail and mechanical realism have made his designs still admired upon and used in anime series and related products after several years of their initial appearance in visual media. One of Miyatake's most famous designs is the ''SDF-1 Macross'' spacecraft. Daicon III And IV Opening Animations
The ''Daicon III'' and ''IV Opening Animations'' are two 8mm film anime short films that were produced for the 1981 Daicon III and 1983 Daicon IV Nihon SF Taikai conventions. They were produced by a group of amateur animators known as Daicon Film, who would later go on to form the animation studio Gainax. The films are known for their unusually high production values for amateur works and for including numerous references to ''otaku'' culture, as well as its unauthorized appropriations of the Playboy Bunny costume. Usage of the songs "Runaway" by Bill Conti (from the soundtrack to the 1981 ''James Bond'' film '' For Your Eyes Only'') as well as "Twilight" and " Hold On Tight" by English rock band Electric Light Orchestra were also unauthorized. In science fiction, or mechs are giant robots or machines controlled by people, typically depicted as humanoid walking vehicles. Studio Nue, Inc. ( ja, スタジオぬえ) is a Japanese design studio formed in 1972 (as Crystal Art Studio) by Naoyuki Kato, Kenichi Matsuzaki, Kazutaka Miyatake, and Haruka Takachiho. Crystal Art Studio would change their name to Studio Nue in 1974.
