''Starry'' is the second studio album by Purr Machine, released on March 16, 2007 by No Bliss Lost Records. The album was recorded with the collaborative efforts of Chris Vrenna of Nine Inch Nails/ Tweaker, William Faith of Faith and the Muse, electronic artist Alex Gordon, Statik from Collide and guitarist Byron Brown of Mercurine. Purr Machine
Purr Machine are an American electro-industrial group based in Los Angeles, California, and comprising guitarist Kirk Hellie, bassist Kevin Kipnis and vocalist Betsy Martin. They band were known for their atmospheric blend of electronica, gothic music and industrial rock. With Kevin Kipnis serving as their main songwriter and programmer, Purr Machine released '' Speak Clearly'' and '' Ging Ging'' respectively in 1999 and 2000 for Re-Constriction Records. Programming (music)
Programming is a form of music production and performance using electronic devices and computer software, such as sequencers and workstations or hardware synthesizers, sampler and sequencers, to generate sounds of musical instruments. These musical sounds are created through the use of music coding languages. There are many music coding languages of varying complexity. Chad Blinman is an American recording engineer and mixer, music producer, and electronic musician. He has worked with such artists as Face to Face, The Get Up Kids, Saves the Day, Jackson United, Faith and the Muse, Monica Richards, Senses Fail, Moneen, The Deep Eynde and Jarboe, and is a member of the remix/mash-up team The Legion of Doom and recording projects Viva Death and Real Space Noise.
