Starmount
Starmount is a predominantly residential neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. Located along South Boulevard, it is between Sharon Road West and Emerywood Drive, with the Little Sugar Creek its eastern border. Consisting of nearly 1,400 homes, it is one of the largest established neighborhoods and is known for its ranch-style or split-level brick bungalow homes. History Starmount was constructed during the early 1960s by Ervin Construction Company. Phase One of construction took place primarily from Starbrook Drive south to Sherbourne, then spread north towards Archdale Drive at Phase Two. Homes were built using true pine 2 x 4s, hardwood floors and brick construction. Archdale Station
Archdale is a light rail station in Charlotte, North Carolina. The elevated island platform is a stop along the Lynx Blue Line and serves Montclaire South and nearby Montclaire and Starmount neighborhoods. It also features a 432-space park and ride and local bus connections. Location The station is located at the intersection of Archdale Drive and Old Pineville Road. Surrounding it are three strip malls: Archdale Marketplace, Carriage Square, and Starmount Center; while to its west is the residential neighborhood of Montclaire South and nearby Archdale Park. A park and ride, also known as incentive parking or a commuter lot, is a parking lot with public transport connections that allows commuting, commuters and other people heading to city centres to leave their vehicles and transfer to a bus, Rail transport, rail system (rapid transit, light rail, or commuter rail), or carpool for the remainder of the journey. Lynx Blue Line
The Lynx Blue Line is a light rail line in Charlotte, North Carolina. Opened in 2007, it was the first rail line of the Charlotte Area Transit System, and the first major rapid rail service of any kind in the state.
