''Staring to the Sun'' is a single and an extended play (EP) by American noise pop band Scarling. It was released on June 6, 2006. "Staring to the Sun" seems to be a sister song to So Long, Scarecrow's title track as the two songs share multiple lines of lyrics. Rickey Lime
Rickey Lime (born Anna Goodling August 20, 1980) is an American guitarist who is best known for her bands Shotgun Won and the Los Angeles-based rock band Scarling. History Anna Goodling grew up in Cottage Grove, Oregon, but spent much of her time in Portland and the surrounding areas. In the mid-1990s, she changed her name to Rickey Lime (a pun on the cocktail called a Lime Rickey) and began playing guitar. She was looking for other women who wanted to start a rock band, and found them after relocating to Olympia, Washington where she attended Evergreen State College. There, she formed Shotgun Won in 1998. The band consisted of Lime on guitar, Erin McCarley on drums, vocalist Amber Bayer, and Kelly Chambers on bass. After moving to Los Angeles, Lime joined Scarling. in 2003 as a guitarist. Christian Hejnal Addams (born June 3, 1969) is an American visual effects producer and the guitarist and occasional vocalist of the Los Angeles-based rock band Scarling. Musical career In the early 1990s, he played in bands such as Candyhateful (previously known as the Brats) and The Drummed. Jessicka Addams (born Jessica Fodera on October 23, 1975) is an American visual artist and retired musician. Best known by her stage name Jessicka, she was the frontwoman for the alternative rock band Jack Off Jill, and later for the noise-pop band Scarling. Early life Jessicka grew up in the town of Sunrise, Florida. She was raised as an only child by her mother Nancy after her mother divorced her husband, Joseph. After high school Jessicka had immersed herself in music, the Goth subculture, gay iconography, all things John Waters and feminist literature. Pixies (band)
Pixies is an American alternative rock band formed in 1986, in Boston, Massachusetts. Until 2013, the band consisted of Black Francis (vocals, rhythm guitar, songwriter), Joey Santiago (lead guitar), Kim Deal (bass, vocals) and David Lovering (drums). They disbanded acrimoniously in 1993 but reunited in 2004. After Deal left in 2013, Pixies hired Kim Shattuck as a touring bassist; she was replaced that year by Paz Lenchantin, who became a permanent member in 2016. It was released on October 29, 2013 through The Committee to Keep Music Evil, and was available as a 7" single from the band's online store for a limited amount of time. It is also Jessicka's final musical release before her retirement from music in 2021. Background "Who Wants to Die for Art?" was the band's first new release of music in over seven years, after Jessicka took a hiatus from making music to focus on her art career. ''So Long, Scarecrow'' is the second and final studio album by the rock band Scarling. Written and recorded in early 2005, and released on October 25, 2005. It is Scarling.'s only album to feature drummer Beth Gordon. Its title is a reference to '' The Wizard of Oz'': in lead vocalist Jessicka's view, the film's Scarecrow is a metaphor for the band itself; the character's initial lack of and search for a brain, she explains, parallels Scarling.'s search for new territory in a predictable and monotonous musical environment.
